Tommy Dreamer, representing WWE, has started calling former ECW stars not currently under WWE deals to be a part of the WWE planned ECW One Night Stand PPV at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City on June 12th.

The Sandman and several others have been contacted by Tommy in the last 24 hours about appearing.

There is no word if WWE is contacting the guys as a way to prevent them from working for a reunion show being organized by Shane Douglas on Friday June 10th.

The previously noted ECW reunion event that is being organized by Shane Douglas has been officially rescheduled for Friday, June 10 at the ECW Arena in Philadelphia, PA. The show will have a 9pm belltime as it is slated to feature "adult content."

Douglas had been sending out contracts to a number of former ECW stars not currently under WWE contract with plans to reunite many performers from what was considered the "glory years" of the promotion from 1994 to 1997. Those include Sabu, Raven, The Sandman and many others. Tod Gordon has already signed on to be involved with the project, while TNA's Jeremy Borash will be involved with the production side.

As we noted earlier on the site, Douglas had originally planned to run the event on Saturday, June 11. However, the Combat Zone Wrestling promotion had that date booked already and declined to give it up citing that a change would hurt their planned storylines going into June. It should be noted that there was consideration on running the Asbury Park Convention Center in New Jersey on June 11, but the decision was made to stay with the ECW Arena and run a day earlier on June 10. There is no ticket information available for the show as of yet.

-- According to WrestlingObserver.com, WWE has gone to war in its attempt to recruit former ECW talent for the ECW PPV, tentatively schedule for 6/12.

With Shane Douglas planning an ECW reunion show on 6/10, WWE is using Tommy Dreamer to court wrestlers away from Douglas' show. WWE has reached out to a number of wrestlers who it feels might otherwise consider working the 6/10 event.

It is known that Sandman was personally offered $5,000 to work WWE's version of the ECW reunion. One can only assume that the other wrestlers contacted also received simiar four-figure offers.
