The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Lex Luger pleaded guilty today to possession of steroids and received five years probation. He was also fined $1,000 and ordered to submit to drug tests.
Luger was charged in April 2003 after he called 911 to report that his girlfriend Elizabeth "Miss Elizabeth" Hulette was choking. She subsequently died, with her death being ruled as accidental and the result of an overdose of pills and alcohol. But police found over 1,000 steroid pills when searching Luger's home.
As I reported previously, Luger was also arrested on Monday and charged with DUI among other charges. At his hearing today, Judge Frank R. Cox told him that another similar arrest could affect his parole status on the steroid charges, which could carry a maximum penalty of 25 years in prison.
