I just finished with listening to the McDonnell Douglas show with Vinnie Mac and Stone Cold. They were a half an hour late probably due to L.A. traffic. If you guys don't know what that is pray you never find out. They finally arrived at about 5:40.

They promptly plugged their press conference and their new agreement to work with each other on film projects. Vince mentioned that it was a natural progression since in the world of WWE no guns, death or knives can be used.

Austin mentioned that it was cool to do movies and take his character to the next level. He mentioned this isn't the first time he's been on screen and mentioned Nash Bridges, etc. He also mentioned The Longest Yard project that it seems everyone out in L.A. is working on. Then Joe mentioned Vince's long day and mentioned how he leases out the Rock's name and how his films were successful and there was no reason not to think Austin's, Kane's and Cena's wouldn't be also.

The talk quickly turned to WM and the sellout of the show and the Hall of Fame Induction. Austin said it was a way to honor those that came before them and paved the way. Vince mentioned they would shortly name the inductees. Joe asked about the cyclical nature of the business and Vince gave the standard line that new stars need to made and sometimes they don't pan out from OVW. He hoped some day to break the records with Austin but it would take time.

Austin threatened to sing "Kum ba ya" as they went to the top of the hour break. They came back from the break and Austin tried unsuccessfully to get Vince to sing. Austin mentioned he has a good voice which Vince didn't argue.

They took two calls. One caller asked about the Hall and the next asked about new stars. They also mentioned how WWE was going Hollywood and Vince mentioned if Wrestlemania was that, being in the movie business wasn't that much of a stretch. He also was asked by Joe if they worried about what people thought of them especially being high profile and pretty much the icons of their business. Vince said the Feds tried to hold him down and couldn't and that no one stops him.

Austin responded to Joe's question about his ex's and Austin said it's out there but he won't hide from it. Both laughed about it and generally had a good time together. Vince sounded a bit tired but that was understandable given his long day. Both had to leave presumably to get to the Best Damn Sports Show.

All in all, a good interview and I like how McDonnell treats the business with respect.
