The word that WWE was trying to get out at the Smackdown taping was that Bob Holly was fined $10,000 for his actions in shooting on Rene Dupree at Sunday’s house show. Holly met with management in a closed-door meeting and then word of the “fine” came out after it ended. Let’s just say that a lot of people in the company are skeptical about the amount of the fine and some wonder if he was fined at all. They point to the fact that Holly’s only obvious “punishment” for the incident was that he was forced to do a job in a dark match at the taping on Tuesday. As we mentioned yesterday, we talked to a few people on the Smackdown roster that know Holly well who told us that he was actually laughing about doing the dark match job to Chris Masters. The general feeling was that if WWE really wanted to make an impression that they were against what Holly did, they would have actually taken some kind of serious action, even though many felt that Dupree has been ridiculously ****y since being called up.
