WWE.com has learned that WWE officials and members of the group PRIDE have a meeting scheduled later this morning at WWE global headquarters in Stamford, Conn. The meeting will focus on the possibility of two groups doing some form of business together in the future.

World Wrestling Entertainment is a multimedia conglomerate with presence in films, music and, of course, sports-entertainment around the world. Known for its unique brand of competition, PRIDE is a major championship mixed martial arts organization based in Japan.

I'm looking forward to seeing what develops from this. Pride and WWE working on the same page... big things could happen.

I'm not really a follower of MMA, I mean wrestling wouldn't exist in the first place if real fighting was actually any good lol !!

But who in PRIDE might I have heard of? Are there people there that will find it easy to transcend to faked fighting? Do they have the charisma outside the ring?

Also, in any feud between the two (if that's the right to choose), how do they book that. From a WWE viewpoint, do they just say, "okay this is tough because these guys can really fight and we really don't". How would it be of interest to PRIDE followers too who surely want to see their guys mixing it up real-style, not working faked punches to the top of the head and chops to the chest!!

Tell me how they make money out of this?? I need educating!!

Because if he is then i'm guessing this could be a way to get him over to WWE.


There would be a few WWE stars i'd love to see get the snot kicked out of them by someone from MMA.

Butterbean just kicked Sean O'Haire's ass last month in Pride. There is a Pride fighter now in WWE. As for MMA and WWE... Shamrock.

Pride currently has a number of pro wrestlers who fight for them. SOme are good and some are not so good.

Pride has a lot of well known MMA fighters. Most of the Pride guys have a lot of charisma, but not all of them speak english.

Oh, and there is nothing fake about Pride and there never will be. No Pride fan would ever put up with fake wrestling on one of their PPV's. Not American style anyway. Some of the Japan Pro stuff can have some real eliments to it.

Mikk, Bob Sapp has fought in Pride before but he currenty works with K-1.

K-1 is Kick boxing and also MMA. Pride and k-1 often have joint PPV's featuring mixed rules and fights.
