Now this is a shame, JBL, from what i've heard, seems really comfortable at the announce table on Smackdown. I wonder if Kennedy may be doing commentary or if they will just get someone like Grisham in for it. | ||

Rep Power: 9 ![]() ![]() | Sorry, Mick this has since been superseeded and he has signed a new contract..... The Wrestling Observer is reporting that John Bradshaw Layfield has reached a new deal with WWE and will remain as a commentator on Smackdown along with Michael Cole. JBL had given his notice to WWE earlier this month and his final show with the company was to be at the No Mercy PPV on October 8 in Raleigh, North Carolina. That has now changed and he will remain with WWE. |

When ur colour you love heels/hate faces. You can't decide to bury a heel because you slightly disagree with his persona (And when I say that I mean the JBL character would disagree with the heel). He's killing the roster, himself and Cole. He needs to know his role and shut his mouth. Jackass. |

Rep Power: 9 ![]() ![]() | As noted last night, John Bradshaw Layfield worked out a deal with WWE earlier this week to remain with the company in his role as a commentator on Friday Night Smackdown with Michael Cole. JBL had given his notice to WWE earlier, with the No Mercy PPV on October 8 scheduled to be his final appearance. However, a new deal was quickly worked out as WWE felt no one else they had in the company was "network-ready" to call Smackdown with Michael Cole and worked out any logistics JBL needed in order to stay. According to The Pro Wrestling Torch, JBL had wanted to leave WWE because he had been taking on some stressful demands with other projects he has been working on outside of WWE (which is rumored to have been some type of bank investment role in New York City). One of JBL's primary concerns was travel time and getting from the Smackdown tapings every Tuesday back to New York early on Wednesday. A concession was reportedly worked out where JBL could ride in "Air McMahon" (Vince McMahon's WWE corporate jet) after the Smackdown tapings on Tuesday night and fly right home instead of using Wednesday as a travel day. Well, I'd personally use the cross-over appeal of Taz to start an ECW/Smackdown mini-fued. Could only work out good for both sides and Taz has proved he fits both roles (and if many of us are honest he's more WWE than ECdub on a mic anyway). Have him commentate both show's and stir the pot. |
