Source: SEScoops.com The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Batista receieved negative feedback from many of his colleagues for how he handled the booing at the 8/1 ECW show. He was told ahead of time by Vince McMahon and Johnny Ace that booing was likely to occur, however, he lost his cool within seconds of walking to the ring and he never seemed to get past it. Batista's appearance was heavily edited during the international broadcast of the show. They edited in footage of fans cheering him on and holding positive signs. Also, all the negative chants were overdubbed with a five-minute long "ECW" chant. And lastly, most of the comments both Joey Styles and Tazz made when they called attention to the crowd's negative reaction were removed. When it was all said and done, the editing made it come off as the most positive reaction to an ECW match since its inception. ~~~~~~~~ Its WWE's own fault for having a meathead v meathead match. If they had of been sensible and put a decent worker in instead of Batista, the fans may have been more forgiving. | |

Rep Power: 9 | Yeah Batista's got the look and stuff, but I was never really a huge fan of him, especially now that he's been noted to cause disturbances in the back tho' he's only been there a few years, and thinks he runs the show. | |

Rep Power: 3 | Well I'm a fan of Batista and he did get booed. I would have a negative reaction to it also. But the person to blame for all of this is Vince he's so damn stupid for some of the desisions that he's made with ECW. The WWE shouldn't be editing things it makes it look worse then it really is. I like the ECW shows and I wish that they would just leave it and not edit. |
