Several top TNA officials, including Dixie Carter and creative head Vince Russo had a meeting with SpikeTV officials in New York City to work on strategies going forward. It was something that had been planned well in advance of yesterday's announcement that Hulk Hogan was coming into the company as the two sides meet several times a year to go over different aspects of the synergy between TNA and Spike. For those interested, Jeff Jarrett was not present. Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff were not there, nor were they scheduled to be as Hogan is in the middle of his media tour.
Numerous sources have noted that Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff are not taking over the creative reigns of the company, despite what has been claimed elsewhere. I am sure Hogan will have creative control over how he is used, but Vince Russo, Ed Ferrara, etc. are not being replaced.
Obviously, Hogan is going to have some influence. I am told he has suggestions of talents he'd like to see brought into the company but there are no wrestlers or personalities 100% set yet and there is no one that TNA is required to use as part of the Hogan-Bischoff deal.
In regard to rumors of TNA being moved to Mondays, there is nothing to that at this time, according to SpikeTV sources. TNA's production schedule is set through April of 2010 while house show tours are already booked through May. Spike wants to continue to build Impact as their destination show for Thursdays, one of the reasons the Saturday replay was eliminated a few weeks back.
There has been no discussion of changing the Impact format from a taped series to a live production, either.
The TNA office staff were informed Hulk Hogan was coming into the company about 15 minutes before the press conference. I am told only 5-6 people total were aware the deal was even going down.

Moving to Monday would be a bad choice as of now as the struggle with their ratings and what-not. But, with the fact that Vince/WWE has every day of the week (except for Wendesday) filled with programming, why not move IMPACT to Wednesday nights so that it's the only wrestling show on TV that night. That way, they may get a bit bigger rating, and they don't have to worry about going up against anything the "E" airs.

If they did go to Monday's all that would happen is 1997-1999 all over again with each company talking shit about the other company on TV. And lets face it, when push comes to shove the WWE would bury them much like they did WCW.

Yeah plus TNA is nowhere NEAR the level WCW was. TNA's 3 hour IMPACT before their Wrestlemania got a 0.9 rating. I'd hate to think what the ratings would be like going up against RAW.
It would be hilarious hearing Triple H target TNA with his insider jokes though. Hopefully he'll do that anyway with the reports that Vince is furious about the Hogan conference being held at MSG.

Even if TNA were getting Raw level ratings, who would be dumb enough to go head-to-head with Raw? With wrestling not in a boom period, you're only going to be hurting your ratings as well as Raw. In every war, there's a winner and a loser. Ask WCW what happens when you lose. I wish TNA nothing but success since wrestling needs TNA, but grow and succeed on their own time instead of trying to compete in a ratings war.
Say what you will about TNA's booking choices, but they're at least smart enough not to go head-to-head with Raw.

I think if they are going to move to Mondays, then Bischoff is going to NEED to have some say in the direction, and they need to completely recreate TNA wrestling iMPACT format...its the same old thing over and over again....
When does Hogan debute?

My WWE Universe NOC is UP! Check It Out! Credit and Thanks to: Doctor Doom for Banner. AWESOME DUDE!
Stupid move for TNA if they ever decided to do it. Considering WCW were 10x the company TNA is & they got taken out by Raw just imagine what would happen to TNA. TNA are currently showing on a different day & aren't getting nearly the same ratings as Raw. I'd hate to think what would happen to them if they actual went up against raw.
