I'll still watch on Thursday night, but I think from now on it'll be with only one eye open. I'm stunned, saddened, and deeply hurt because I was really hoping I'd never have to see Hogan on my television anymore. Damn wishful thinking!

From what i've been reading, Eric is only really there because of his company and they are going to be improving the way iMPACT is made eg: the production of the show.
It seems from the reports that he's not going to be involved heavily with the booking.

It's shocking. When I was woken up at 5:30 am by the sound of my cat puking somewhere around my bed (try getting up in complete darkness praying you're not going to step in the exact spot she chose), I had no idea that the cat hurling was not going to be the worst thing I heard today.

I'm assuming Hogan thought about killing himself, but thought that running another wrestling company into the ground would be the better thing to do. Goodbye, TNA! It was nice getting to know you over the past month or so.
