Another option, but not one I would advocate myself. Jeff has shown himself to be a calm and reasonable person when drunk enough to be ejected from a plane, but his responses on different kinds of drugs could be very different. While he hasn't hurt anyone yet, his continually use of large quantities of narcotics does show him to have an addictive personality in my eyes. If he slips too far down that hole he could quite conceivably turn nasty, or irresponsible around others.
In his defense, not each and every one of these he actually did. Many stories have come out and turned out not to be true.
The one's involving the hotels and their staff are confirmed, and the ones of abuse come from two former Diva's who left the company specifically due to Orton's behaviour towards them. One was quoted as saying that Orton has "issues with beautiful women".
Yea legalize stuff that distorts the way the brain functions and causes delayed reaction time and stuff that kills people. Real intelligent. No matter how much money the shit brings it's not worth making legal or taxed because the amount of people who would do it a ton and end up dead because of it would be enough to cause an outpour that says get rid of it.
You've heard of alcohol and cigarettes right? I use both, but I'm not blinkered to the effects they have on my body. The only drug I know of worse than either is heroin, and from the material I've read (which is not extensive by any means, nor up to date) were it legal and used by the same amount of people who smoke or drink, it'd still kill less people than smoking and drinking does.
My brother died of a drug overdose because he took to much shit at the same time and it ended up costing him his life. He did it his whole life and he never changed. Mr. Harvey here can go to rehab all he wants but the chances of him changin are very slim because its a struggle every day and so far the guy hasn't shown that he wants to change. He quits while hes on top of the world probably because he wants to do drugs and he knew he was going to fail another test and get fired. The guy is scum and retard who threw away everything he had just to get a high. I dont give a shit how much pain your in or how "rough" your life is. Theres no need to turn to drugs to fix the problem. I live in pain every day because I have a bad back but you don't see me looking up the nearest drug dealer to get some pills to stop the pain. I deal with it while im sober and i do just fine. I dont care what this guy says hes going to do or what but the guy deserves jail time. If anything it will keep him clean for 2-3 years and maybe he'll come out sober and stay sober and maybe it will save his life. One of the biggest regrets my mom has is not calling my brother in (he had a warrant for some shit) because if she did he woulda went to jail and woulda got clean. Even if it was for a couple of months atleast he got clean and maybe he could change his ways. Maybe that is exactly what Jeff Hardy needs.
I cannot imagine what you went through with your brother and I do not mean to disrespect his memory in any way when I say this, but a very high percentage of users who serve jail time only increase their input of drugs while inside. It's a scary, and boring place to be and drugs are widely available, or at least they are when you factor in that prison is supposedly run by the government and that the government (in most countries) frown upon drug use. If Jeff were to go to prison he would very likely not become clean, in fact the treatment he would recieve there, from inmates and guards alike could even push him further in to drugs. I state again, rehab is the only option for drug users. He has broken no law other than posession and hurt nobody but himself. Prison is not the answer for him. Had he attacked someone, or been caught dealing then I would suggest a prison sentence followed by extensive rehab, but he hasn't.
Also 1 last thing....its funny how people protect and defend these celebs but this was some regular shmuck you read about in the paper or saw on the news nobody would even give a shit or care to defend the guy. Most of you would probably say "he deserves what he gets" and go on about your business. But since its a guy who has gone through this crap 2-3 times before and you love him because hes over in a wrestling company and does a few high spots and is shit at everything else you defend him with your lives. Its amazing...also this is the same thought about Benoit. Some people say oh well its done and over with lets remember him for what he did in the ring not what he did before he died. Get the F outta here with that crap...hes a MURDERER and if the bitch didnt kill himself he shoulda been fried in the electric chair the piece of shit...thats the scum of the earth.
Just to clarify my position on this. I am not defending Jeff Hardy because I'm a fanboy. I'm defending him because the law is WRONG in this matter and it is an injustice to imprison someone who is sick, not a criminal. Especially when jails all over the world are overcrowded. Were this a news story about John Smith of Denton, Manchester in England and the facts that I had were the same as those we have here, my position would be the same. True, I'd likely argue less passionately, but that would likely be because less people give a shit about John Smith of Denton, Manchester than do about Jeff Hardy.
As for the Chris Benoit point... I see exactly where you're coming from. He is a murderer, and thus his human rights (had he survived) in my eyes, are forfeit. I don't agree with the death penalty, but a 5x5 cell with a hole for a toilet is what I would've given him. And plenty of thearpy, it was drug related, after all. That said, however, I can still watch his matches and marvel at his skills between the ropes. He may have been sick and twisted in his final days (and indeed, earlier still as he was accused of spousal abuse at one time) but he was a genius in the ring and truely deserving of that title. Yes, he was a murderer, and we should remember that. Yes, he was a junkie, and we should remember that. Yes, he was amazing when he got in the ring, and we should remember that. He is a red flag that should be held high to remind other wrestlers (and indeed people) of the dangers of steriods, pain killers and a hard hiting style, not hidden away in shame.

I mean you want to think he's a douche, fine, think he's a douche but the guy hasn't done anything terribly wrong yet and we can't just go throwing people in prison because they may at one time become a threat to others.

I can't disagree with this at all. My biggest issue with this whole thing is it seems to me that many people are judging him on what he might do, which isn't fair at all.
I mean you want to think he's a douche, fine, think he's a douche but the guy hasn't done anything terribly wrong yet and we can't just go throwing people in prison because they may at one time become a threat to others.
Yeah, exactly. Cos if we start doing that we may aswell put the whole world behind bars and have done with it.
