Why is this news anyways? The dates of the 2010 NFC and AFC championship games has been known for years and the 2010 Royal Rumble date has been known since April. Why is PWInsider only doing this now instead of 5 months ago when this first became obvious?

LOL. Vince has his head so far up his own ass it's not even funny. He REALLY thinks he can beat the NFL? He really thinks people would rather pay for the Rumble (something that can be downloaded AND streamed) rather than watching the AFC or NFC Championship game for free? Football > Wrestling, period. Sorry, Vinnie Mac.

I really don't see this as a "Vince McMahon is Retarded" issue but I see this as an issue dealing with economics and the point being strategic because Atlanta is not going to make the #1 seed in which case they would host the NFC championship game and he knows that with the way the PPV buys have been that it really isn't an ideal option to think about PPV buys because the NFL playoffs span the entire month of January including the Pro Bowl on the 31st. I think before all is said and done the WWE will probably move it to the 31st of January but the WWE will still be able to do a solid job in garnering interest into one of the big 4 PPV's of the year and the first of 2010.

I think this is Vince reliving the days when the NFL were willing to pay Vince to move Raw to another day, since it was gaining such numbers that it was starting to hurt Monday Night Football's numbers.
The only time Raw ever moved was when USA Network wanted to air a dog show, but now they just air that on a different channel and Raw airs on USA.

WWE
changed the date of the Royal Rumble PPV to January 31, 2009 from January 24. The event remains scheduled for the Philips Arena in Atlanta.
WWE's website still shows January 24 on their listing of future PPV dates and Ticketmaster
shows January 24. The actual event listing on WWE's website and on the Philips Arena's upcoming schedule have been changed to January 31.
The change allows WWE to have their annual PPV on the Sunday in between the NFL's conference championship rounds and the Super Bowl. Tickets for the Rumble have been on-sale since April 18.
WWE was fortunate that the NBA Hawks and NHL Thrashers did not have home games on the new date. Also, there were no other concerts or events scheduled.

I figured it was just a mistake.
