Yeah but if the plan was to have Jericho and Edge as tag champs, why would they just pick a random partner for Jericho? Only Edge worked for the angle really.
I'm guessing I wasn't the only one praying this was Triple H....
Anyway, I'm very disappointed by this. A couple of months ago I might not have cared as much but the angle with Jericho was very promising indeed. Such a shame.
Hope he recovers sooner than expected, but it sounds like he's gonna be out a long time.

If Edge is out for a long time, Jericho can dump him and replace him to continue the reign so that it wont be a complete loss. Then, once Edge is recovered he has a reason to go after Jericho who dumped him as soon as he got hurt instead of waiting it out like a tag partner is supposed to. Jericho = heel, Edge = babyface.

That wouldn't be a bad idea, but who could step in as the partner? Plus, I feel that would work a lot better if Edge was only out short-term, because this way WWE are going to have to stick with an awkward random pairing put together at short notice for months and months.

Why not just have Jericho pick a new partner? I seem to remember that happening before. It wouldnt be very fair on Jericho to lose them because Edge got injured.
Who else can Jericho pick anyways?

I dont watch WWE so i dont know the feud's etc either man is involved in, but what about Christian to add to the story. Jericho replaces Edge with his own brother.

Christian's a face on ECW. This could possibly be what triggers a Punk heel turn, but kinda stupid if he's the WHC. I can't actually think of over heels on Smackdown. They got rid of Umaga, who could have been used like now.

Punk was my first choice given his history with Edge but being Champion and from what i can tell in a feud with Hardy i decided against him. I also thought of Kendrick but he has done nothing recently. Christian seemed like a good option simply because of the vast history he has with both men.

If Christian was on SD & a heel he would be the perfect replacement for Edge. But because he is on ECW & a face having him team with Jericho makes no sense whatsoever. There pretty much is no one big enough on the SD roster that can fill Edge's place.

If you don't watch the shows, or even keep up with results you're not really in any position to say what should be done, because you don't know what the situation is. There is no heel that could step in and fill the void left by Edge without it making zero sense. I think them dropping the belts is probably the only option at this stage. They can turn Edge face another way when he returns.
