I disagree. Airfare out of Texas isn't that cheap. If she was flying out of NY or LA, she may have gotten some bargains. Flying out of Texas? not so much.
That doesn't mean much to me son. A better example would be using busses to Manchester as an example.
Most wrestlers don't fly other than when going overseas. Flying everyone would be expensive even for full time wrestlers.

But I was under the impression WWE paid airfare.
Firstly, who are you calling son? Secondly, how would that be a better example? If it is, why didn't you explain it?
It doesn't matter if it means much to YOU, it was in reference to Vickie's situation. 500 was far from adequate pay. Staying in a cheap hotel and with Chavo isnt necessarily an option. She's with the biggest wrestling company in the world, why should she have to stay in a cheap hotel?

Sorry, I'm not down enough with UK geography enough to put it in the proper context for you, "son". Let me try this- She's not flying in and out of a major city. Airfares going in and out of major cities are generally cheaper than flying in and out of smaller markets.
I'm pretty sure WWE doesn't pick up the bill for flights, except for the main eventers.

Flying everywhere IS expensive, but it comes with the job. Most, if not all wrestlers at the WWE level do fly. Someone may fly out of Florida on a Thursday to work house shows all weekend, then Raw on Monday, then fly home Tuesday. Talent drives between house shows, since they're usually grouped together geographically, but they absolutely fly home when the tour ends that week.

She wouldn't have too, and we don't know her actual arrangements and if this rumor is true.
Besides, many wrestlers choose to stay in cheap hotels. Even after Mick Foley won the WWF Championship he would look for the cheapest motels to stay in and sometimes share rooms with other wrestlers. The smart wrestlers do this so that they can save their money and avoid having to wrestle into their 60s and even 70s (Abdullah the Butcher was still wrestling in his 70s, and many WWF stars from the 1980s are in their 50s and 60s and still wrestling because they didn't save any of their money).

The word going around the locker room is that Vickie Guerrero was only being paid $500 per appearance by WWE. On top of that, she had to cover her own hotel and road expenses.
Typically, talent on the main roster net a $75,000 downside guarantee at the very least, so her salary was drastically below even the lowest paid main roster performers in the company.
Some wrestlers are understandably fired up over this rumor, as the feeling is that the company could have done more to take care of a person who was such an integral part of WWE.
Although, it's worth noting that WWE paid for Eddie Guerrero's funeral and likely did more to help out Vickie financially than the locker room is aware of.

Foley is a notoriously cheap man though. It's one thing to stay in five star suites, but I don't see anything wrong with staying in a nice hotel. This isn't Jimbo's Backyard Wrestling Federation, every wrestler in the WWE should have enough money to stay at nice hotels.
Every wrestler, and indeed member of travelling staff should be earning enough to cover these expense (even though WWE really should be doing this for them anyway) but if this article is fact, that is obviously not the case for Vickie Guerrero. When she was Raw and Smackdown GM she was earning $1000 dollars a week. Factor in he hotel and road expenses and she's taking home maybe half that, if she's lucky. Even if she's working house shows it's getting eaten into by extra hotel time and fuel costs.

You're absolutely correct about wrestlers choosing to stay in cheap hotels. The point Bon was making was that she shouldn't HAVE to stay in a cheap hotel because she's making no money. Choosing to stay in a cheap hotel to save money is one thing-being forced to stay in a cheap hotel because you're making no money is another story altogether.

Exactly. If she's forced to pay these expenses, then it changes my original thought that she was making enough.
