World Wrestling Entertainment has changed the names of several upcoming PPVs.
The 10/4 No Mercy event is now re-titled "Hell in A Cell". WWE had been toying with doing a Hell in A Cell-themed PPV for several weeks with the top matches featuring the company's top gimmick match. Where that leaves the planned Randy Orton vs. Triple H Hell bout that at one point was planned for Summerslam is unknown at this time.
The Cyber Sunday gimmick PPV also appears to be out the window at first glance, as the 10/25 PPV has been re-titled "WWE Annihilation."
What a case of good news, bad news. I always hated the idea of Cyber Sunday, so good riddance. However, making PPV based around a match stipulation better used for ending feuds makes me want whatever Vince is smoking.

I hadn't noticed that, but I really hope that Hell in a Cell ppv won't be all HIAC matches. That seems like it would get boring after the second match. Plus, it just seems like rehashing what they're doing with No Way Out now with the EC chamber. Another thing I don't like about that is that it gives away the date of HIAC every year now. I like the surprise in a rivalry when someone finally has enough and says, "HELL... IN A CEEEEEEEELL!". Now that surprise will be gone. I just hate how WWE has to make everything so uniform now. It kills so much of the surprise.
They would never ever whore out an all PPV Hell in a Cell match would they?? Probably not. But I hate the certain stip on PPV thing. Sometimes an elimination chamber is more appropriate to a show other than NWO, but cant be dont bacause its specific to that show now. It ruins unpredictability, and when a feud really needs a HIAC, if it isnt that time of year thats just too bad.

Only the main events will be HiaC matches, not the whole card.
I don't like them using the HiaC like this, but, lets face it, with the PG era in full swing, HiaC matches aren't going to be the blood fests they used to be. Maybe this is the best way of utilising the gimmick now?
