Fucking hell. He took a backdrop and hit his head, lost consciousness in the ring then died in hospital just an hour or so ago.

This is a tragic day for wrestling, he was an all-time great and a legend in every sense of the word. I'm still in shock at how sudden this is. He was an amazing wrestler, one of the very best of all time, and he will be sorely missed.

Wow, I have no idea what to say. I'm more shocked than sad, since I'd never actually seen a lot of Misawa's classics, but this is so sudden. He was only 46...

This is indeed a tragedy, given how popular he is and his reputation of being one of the best of all time. I'm just in shock right now.

Ah, just posted this in the indy section.

I'm in shock, this is surreal. So sudden. He was an all-time great, one of the best ever, and his contribution to the wrestling world will be sorely, sorely missed.

I couldn't think anyone as experienced as Misawa could botch a suplex, something must have gone horribly wrong.

EDIT: Apparently he took a Belly To Belly suplex, which knocked him unconscious during a NOAH show at the Hiroshima Green Arena. He was taken to hospital and pronounced deceased soon after.

I only seen some of his work, but I know he was praised by many. That really is a damn shame.

It wasn't really a botch, a backdrop suplex is a dangerous move to take by nature.

For those unaware of who he is, this is the equivilant of if Ric Flair had died during 2007 or something, probably even bigger.

As a fan of the guy, this is pretty surreal.
