WWE
ECW Drafts A Huge Name.
To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
On RAW this week it was revealed that Vince McMahon granted Paul Heyman two free draft picks from the WWE roster. One from RAW, one from SmackDown!
As predicted, Rob Van Dam will be leaving RAW for ECW which Heyman confirmed on TV would be returning full-time. The SmackDown! pick however, was unexpected.
Many assumed it would be Tazz jumping, especially with Jerry Lawler trashing him on RAW it was expected Tazz vs. Lawler at One Night Stand, which still could happen, but Heyman described the full-time returning ECW as being some of what it used to be, but also having a new vision.
Heyman revealed this new vision with his draft pick from SmackDown, who was introduced on RAW live and was none other than Olympic gold medallist Kurt Angle. Angle came out and beat up Mick Foley, who was representing WWE in the "face-off" with Heyman.
Mikk’s Opinion: If they weren’t already doing it, Smackdown now looks dead and buried. Angle gone, Benoit off TV and JBL too means there is pretty much no big names on the Smackdown brand anymore. Pretty soon we will be seeing Rey v Himself because there is no one for him to feud with. Batista is still a month from coming back, Kennedy is supposedly back within the next few weeks and just about everyone else is involved with a feud of some sort.
If WWE want Smackdown to improve they need to do 2 things.
1) Draft at least 3 people from Raw to bulk the brand up
2) Go live. The reason most people don’t care anymore is that they have probably already read the spoilers before the Friday and know what is going to happen.
WWE Charged In Kentucky.
To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
WWE has been charged with nine violations of Kentucky state law, stemming from some incidents that occured at their Backlash pay-per view on April 30 in Lexington. Kentucky state law prohibits usage of blood or blading in professional wrestling, and even in the case of accidental bleeding during a match the promoters are instructed to end that match immediately. What makes this interesting is that WWE was fully aware of the law as it's not uncommon, and even had a meeting to ask for special usage of blood since it was a pay-per view show, or at least permission to allow matches to complete if blood accidentally turned up. They were refused on both requests and decided to go ahead and have some color on the pay-per view regardless. The nine violations being charged against them include:
1. During the Vince & Shane McMahon vs. Shawn Michaels match, Michael S. Hickenbottom (Michaels) intentionally cut himself in violation of state law.
2. In the same match, Vince McMahon continued the match instead of haulting the action as required by state law.
3. Shane McMahon continued the match instead of ending it as required by state law.
4. During the Triple H vs. Edge vs. John Cena match, Paul Levesque (HHH) intentionally cut himself, violating state law.
5. In the same match, Adam Copeland (Edge) continued the match instead of ending it as required by state law.
6. John Cena continued the match instead of leaving as required by state law.
7. In the same match, Copeland competed outside the barricade, in violation of state law.
8. Rich Herring, the promoter of record, allowed wrestlers in the two matches to violate state law and failed to end the matches immediately as required by state law.
9. World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) continued the event, having a new match before washing the ring mat of blood left from a previous match in the evening, violating state law.
When all is said and done WWE will likely pay about $50,000 in fines (state law is $5,000 per fine), however head wrestling inspector Tim Gonterman is attempted to get WWE banned from promoting events in the state of Kentucky due to the flagrance of their violations.
Mikk’s Opinion: Would Vince, Shane, HBK or anyone else stopped a match due to one of them bleeding, I seriously doubt it.
Burchill Pirate Gimmick Dropped.

Paul Birchill's pirate gimmick is being dropped. He will be out of action for a few weeks due to an injury.
Mikk’s Opinion: Well this is just another example of Smackdown going down the toilet. They need these gimmicks to grab the attention of the fans and from what I’ve seen Burchill was actually getting something of a decent response from the crowd.
Oh well I’m sure if he goes to ECW they will use him far better.
Melina Rubbing People The Wrong Way.
To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
Apparently, Melina has rubbed a lot of people in the locker room the wrong way. There has been some talk backstage that she has developed a bit of an ego and that she doesn't work well with a few of the other women in the company.
Mikk’s Opinion: If she continues like this she could very well be unemployed by the end of the year as she will eventually rub one of the top management wrong and that will be it.
TNA
Homicide To ECW?
To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
Terry Funk and a few other people have recommended that WWE sign Homicide for the new ECW.
No offer has been made to him as he is still under contract to TNA, however, it is said to be a short-term deal that will be expiring soon. Also, Homicide isn't happy in TNA.
Mikk’s Opinion: This could be good as Homicide is a very good brawler and can wrestle when needed. But he seems to be getting a huge push in ROH at the moment and if he left he would be badly missed and I wouldn’t see him anymore in 1PW which would be pants.
Jackie Gayda Not Fired.
To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
Jackie Gayda has not been fired by TNA.
Her on-air firing was an angle to remove her from storylines, but Gayda remains with the company.
Mikk’s Opinion: Its not a big loss really but I don’t suppose she will be back for some time as she is expecting.
Senshi Misses Impact Tapings.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com reports that Senshi (Low Ki) had to miss the tapings last night as he was completing his commitments for NOAH in Japan.
This is his final tour, and from this point on he will be fully dedicated to TNA.
Mikk’s Opinion: I do like Low Ki but I feel he is a little wasted on TNA as he can’t show his full potential. He is still very good but he needs to be how he is in ROH.

Steve Corino Crowned 1PW Champion, Jonny Storm Jody Fleisch First Tag Champions.
To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
On Saturday May 27th, Doncaster witnessed the final of the Tag Team Championship tournament which saw AJ Style & Christopher Daniels face off against Jonny Storm & Jody Fleisch for the Tag Team Titles.
In the end, it was Storm & Fleisch that came away with the win to be crowned the very first Tag Team Champions. In somewhat of an upset, it was Storm and Fleisch managed to overcome the odds and be crowned Tag Team Champions.
Also in the nights main event, Steve Corino managed to survive a balcony fall and power bomb through a barbed wire table to pin the monster Abyss after seeing an opportunity left by Christian Cage. Cage had hit the un-prettier on Abyss and tried to help Colby Corino out of the ring after he made his way to the ring where he was once again picked on by Abyss. Cage then hit the un-prettier on Abyss and then tried to help Colby out of the ring when Corino Snr snuck in and pinned Abyss to become the 1PW Champion. The Fans in Doncaster exploded and cheered as Corino was handed the 1PW Title to hold his 16th World Title.
Mikk’s Opinion: This is good to have British Champions and also a familiar face in Steve Corino as the main champion. Hopefully he will be champion for a little while and then lose it to Sterling James Keenan or Darren Burridge down the line.
Storm & Fleisch should also hold those belts for a while.

At the Barnsley Metrodome on July 1st, Fight Club II charges into Barnsley with some huge matches now announced along with a special appearance by WWE Hall Of Famer Jimmy Snuka.
The card so far is as follows:
1PW Title
Steve Corino {c} v Doug Williams
Tag Titles
Storm & Fleisch v Team NOAH
Darren Burridge v Bryan Danielson
Iron City Street Fight
Sterling James Keenan v Spud
Iceman v Martin Stone
Mikk’s Opinion: This card is already looking fantastic. Corino v Williams should be fantastic and the iron city street fight should also be something to see.

This past weekend 1PW announced it’s brand new television series, 1PW TV. The series starts on Friday June 30th at 9pm on The Wrestling Channel ( Sky Digital 427 ) - and will air for TWO HOURS every other Friday . WE are so happy to have a regular medium with which to communicate our storylines and action with our fans, and to inform fans of upcoming events and matches.
Each episode will be a magazine style show - with exclusive footage and interviews taped at our live events just for 1PW TV. The first episode will feature three full matches from the Know Your Enemy weekend, including the awesome Noah GHC Tag Team Championship match between Takeshi Morishima and Mohammed Yone and Doug Williams and Nigel McGuiness, in addition to Sterling James Keenan versus Spud, and British Cruiserweight action featuring the new breakout star in 1PW, the “ Man that Gravity Forgot “ PAC.
Mikk’s Opinion: If you have The Wrestling Channel, you need to watch this as 1PW is the biggest thing going right now in the UK.

Jimmy Rave & Matt Sydal are people I’m looking forward to seeing as they are both excellent for ROH.
Hopefully KENTA could be announced for this if he does the ROH shows the week before in Liverpool.
