This week, Smackdown to lose 2 stars, ECW gets a TV deal, name change for Booker and much more.

WWE

Smackdown to lose 2 stars due to injury.

Chris Benoit and JBL are both said to be taking some time off to recover from nagging injuries both have. Benoit is going to go through an injury angle on Smackdown whilst JBL will more than likely drop of TV for a while which is why he dropped the US Title to Lashley at the recent Smackdown tapings.

Mikk’s Opinion: Please please please bring Kane and someone else over from Raw to bulk the roster up and make Smackdown worth watching again. I just hope Batista & Ken Kennedy come back quickly because Smackdown is in serious trouble.

Batista to return at The Bash.

In a new promotional photo released by InDemand, the Great American Bash 2006 poster features SmackDown! Superstar Batista with the USA flag in the background. This marks the first WWE GAB PPV where it features a male; the other two featured Torrie Wilson, now a RAW Diva.

It is expected that Batista will be back for the PPV which will air on Pay-Per-View July 23rd.

Mikk’s Opinion: Well lets hope he is fully fit before he returns so he doesn’t do a Kevin Nash and injure himself as soon as he steps back inside the ring.

Booker name change.

It looks like Booker T will be undergoing a name change. WWE has trademarked the term "King Booker".

Mikk’s Opinion: Well looks as if they are going back to the old days of when the King Of The Ring winner’s name was changed for the year like King Haku or King Race.

June WWE Magazine.

The June issue of WWE RAW Magazine has a dream match section and in it, it asks the question about what would happen if Stone Cold Steve Austin and Hulk Hogan went one-on-one.

- Also in the magazine, the poster of Vengeance is on there that has been circulating the Internet that features the DX logo on it. If it is on the official WWE magazine, it confirms the return of DX.

Mikk’s Opinion: I hope they don’t try to push Hogan or Austin into fighting because it wouldn’t be a very good match with both past their prime.
I hope they also keep DX longer than a night as it would be a welcome change to have a heel group once again.

TNA

TNA make money offer to Goldberg.

TNA actually made their first money offer to Bill Goldberg last week. It should come as no surprise that he turned it down though.

Right now, with his son just being born, it would be very difficult to get him to do anything. It is being said that it would take a ton of money to lure him in at a later date. People aware of what's going on are doubtful that TNA's offer would even come close to what Goldberg's willing to work for and that a deal is not likely to occur.

Goldberg is financially set for life. He still gets offers for wrestling, MMA and public appearances. However, Goldberg still thinks that his market value is the same as it was in 1998.

Goldberg's wife Wanda gave birth to the couple's first child prematurely on May 10th. The son was actually due on June 10th, but he's doing fine nonetheless.

Mikk’s Opinion: Oh dear. He really needs to stop thinking he’s good and worth a lot because he really isn’t. It would be good to have him there but he must stop thinking he’s a big name when he really isn’t.

Juventud Guerrera contacts TNA

Juventud Guerrera inquired about working for TNA last week. Considering that his name was never even considered when they badly needed a Mexican wrestler for the World X Cup when Abismo Negro was out, his chances of joining TNA don't look too good.

Mikk’s Opinion: Another wrestler who thinks he is bigger than he is. If TNA wanted him they would call him.

Homicide going to get a push.

Homicide is in line for a push. When TNA brought him in, he told them that his shoulder wasn't in good shape and that he's be limited to brawls. His shoulder got better, however, he never told anyone that. A Homicide & Senshi vs. AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels match may be in the cards so he can finally have a chance to show what he can do.

Mikk’s Opinion: This will be good for TNA to push someone else who isn’t a WWE reject. Hopefully they will win the tag titles and make that division better.

Shane Douglas to get a managers role.

Shane Douglas is set to become the manager of The Naturals. He observed Chase Stevens getting beat down on Impact last week. After Chase Stevens was choked out by Samoa Joe on Impact last week, Andy Douglas did a run-in. TNA wanted Andy to cry in this segment, but he didn't for whatever reason. Also, Stevens got some backstage heat because he was supposed to be selling the beating, and he got up and flipped out of the ring like The Rockers used to do in the eighties.

Mikk’s Opinion: This is encouraging as it will give The Naturals a boost again. Hopefully we will see them challenging one of the top teams soon enough.

WWE Confirms ECW.

WWE BRINGS ECW TO SCI FI CHANNEL

Mikk’s Opinion: This is really encouraging news and hopefully they will be as they were when they were on TNN.
And also for the UK fans, I have heard ECW will be available on Sky Sports as of June 18th.

Beulah McGillicutty not signed for ECW

Despite reports to the contrary, Beulah McGillicutty has not signed on with ECW. However, WWE officials have actually talked about bringing her in, although she's committed to being a mom. There is a good chance that she'll make an appearance at ECW One Night Stand, but less of a chance of touring full-time. Since Tommy Dreamer is in charge, if she ever wants to come in, she'll be allowed to come in.

Mikk’s Opinion: Well ECW didn’t have a women’s division so I wouldn’t feel too bad if she didn’t sign. If she does she would be a good manager for one of the younger talents.

2nd House show announced.

The second ECW house show has been booked to take place on Sunday, June 25th in Elizabeth, PA at the Court Time Sports Center. The first ECW house show is set to take place on June 24th in Philadelphia at the old ECW Arena.

Mikk’s Opinion: I’m glad they are getting house shows arranged and giving ECW a chance of surviving.

1PW Tag champs to be crowned tomorrow night.

The first ever 1PW Tag Team Champions will be crowned tomorrow night {May 27th} in the conclusion of the 1PW Tag Title Tournament. Team Shag {Darren Burridge & Colt Cabana}, The Rottweillers {Homicide & Ricky Reyes}, AJ Styles & Christopher Daniels, The Impact Players {Credible & Storm}, Johnny Storm & Jody Fleisch and Generation Next {Aries & Strong} will all compete Friday night to see who will go onto Saturday night to go for the gold. Those who don’t get to the final will compete in a fatal four way tag team match on Saturday night.

Mikk’s Opinion: I hope one of the lesser teams wins the belts because it would be good for them. I hope its Burridge and Cabana.

Jimmy Snuka confirmed for Fight Club II.

WWE Hall Of Famer Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka has signed to appear at 1PW Fight Club II from the Barnsley Metrodome on July 1st. Also appearing at this show are ROH Champion Bryan Danielson, Darren Burridge and Doug Williams.
FIGHT CLUB II is a LIVE Sky Television Taping, showcasing the absolute best of British Pro Wrestling, alongside top names from the United States, and Worldwide, in a hard hitting, high flying hardcore environment.

Mikk’s Opinion: I am really liking the addition of this mini event on the 1PW calendar as it gives the british talent a showcase. And also boosts the profile of 1PW.
