Smackdown Rating Hits 2nd Lowest Of All Time.

Source: PWInsider.

Last week's edition of Smackdown scored its second lowest rating in the history of the series. Last week's show did a 1.9 broadcast rating, with a 3.5 share. That horrific number probably won't bode well for the Judgment Day buyrate.

It should be noted that Smackdown was pre-empted in several major markets including Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, Washington D.C. and Dallas.

The lowest rated edition of Smackdown took place on September 9, 2005 when it scored a 1.7 rating on its Friday night debut. However, a special fundrasing concert to help Katrina victims aired on UPN along with the other major US television networks at the same time, only the second hour of Smackdown was shown on UPN.

This is why it needs to be live, would keep everyone guessing instead of us reading the results on the wednesday.

Status Quo @ Newcastle City Hall - September 27th
DragonForce @ Newcastle Carling Academy - October 8th
Motorhead @ Newcastle Carling Academy - November 7th

I'm not surprised. There is no motivation to watch it when you can read what happens online and not to mention the overall bad storylines on the show.

And the reason they went to live taping was because viewing was being affected by spoilers from another source.

True when Schiavone tried to ruin it saying foley was going to win the title and i believe it ended up one of the highest rated segments.

The problem is that was the only time it ever worked in WWE's favour. The monday night wars DVD and Mick Foley's book made it seem like the whole big turning point. They forget the number of times WCW just flat out poked them in the eye and fucked up Raw.
