Batista is underrated by some and has been involved in some very good-great matches such as the Triple H Hell in a Cell, the Undertaker series, the Michaels matches and a few others, but I would say this is easy. Joe's ROH run alone makes him way better than Batista. He had some of the best matches I've seen with CM Punk and Kobashi, and this is all without even factoring in his TNA work, which early on was pretty spectcular also, with the Turning Point match against Styles standing out as the obvious highlight.
Joe has had about six truly amazing matches. Batista has had maybe 3-4 great, but nothing of the same standard as Joe's.
Don't know why I felt the need to go into detail here, but Joe wins for both quality of his best, and quantity of good-great matches.

To be fair, Batista has had awesome matches with The Undertaker, great ones with Shawn, HHH, etc. On top of that he has had very good ones with Punk, John Cena, etc.
Never mind the extremely fun Evolution tag teams that Steve reminded me of. In fact.. from after his series with Angle to now, i'd say Batista has been better than Joe.
Joe's indy record and X Division run crushes Tista though.

I will only go with Batista because I don't like anything Samoa Joe has done. I really don't like either but at least Batista had Evolution and I kinda liked them.
