Sega's still in business, and still making software today.
Honestly I don't care what the "NY TIMES insists", they're just trying to sell papers and subscriptions, as well as create rumors.
Sony has been taking a loss for a while with consoles, as have all developers. Things will pick up. I don't see them abandoning the market before Nintendo does, as Nintendo is the worst performing out there, period.
