The No. 2 electronics retailer in America, Circuit City, filed for bankruptcy protection on Monday.
According to the company's Chapter 11 filing with the U.S. bankruptcy court in Richmond, Virginia, Circuit City, which has 566 operating stores in the U.S., will continue to do business and pay its workers while it restructures debt and its business operations.
Times are still tough!
The company I worked for did the same thing, and some how are still around several years later. So maybe they still have a chance...
I just heard the Providence Place Mall is going bankrupt. I fucking wonder why. they don't have a store in that piece that I could buy something for under a hundred dollars.
But no.. the public are the idiots, right? It couldn't be that a place like that was never going to cut it no matter what they did??
Circuit City to close 155 stores, and possibly another 150 on top of that.
