So...figured Id jot down a few notes here, for WC's rockgamers to check out. If you have any ???'s feel free to leave them. Keep in mind as of THIS post I havent tried drums or singing, and I only bought the guitar bundle, so I cant tell you how good the GH drums are. Im supposed to go to a friends later and play on a set of RB drums.
So. following the overcharted GH3 and the biggest ripoff ever in GH:Aerosmith, I thought I could never enjoy a GH game again, and I was wrong. Guitar Hero World Tour is easily the best to have the GH name since 2, and maybe ever.
BIGGEST GOODIES:
*The guitar for this years game is the best guitar controller any game has put out. Ill explain more on this later.
*While a few songs are guilty of overcharting in this game (Eye of THe Tiger for one) the majority of the songs range from well charted to perfectly charted. Beautiful Disaster and Santeria and Mr Crowley are all top notch charts (even thouh in the later they make you play the intro synth, but whatever.)
Even if you compare the GHWT/RB2 shared songs, in some senses the GH charts are better, like in Float On.
*GHWT has not only given you a full bass career, but adding the "open note" technique to the gameplay made Bass guitar almost equally as enjoyable as lead guitar.
*Like in ROck Band, you can add to your Star Power while having Star Power activated.
Complaints:
*The way you progress through career mode isnt the best. See what sets you have unlocked, pick one to play, play all the songs in the set, get an encore or the occasional guest appearance from a rock star (Ozzy,Travis Barker, Hayley Williams, Jimi Hendrix, Billy Corgan, Sting, and Ted Nugent make appearances throughout the game)
*In multiplayer, all bandmembers use the same SP pool. So if your trying to save it for a certain part, but your retard bass player activates constantly, its a pain in the ass.
NEW GUITAR
Im sure you've seen pics, but in case you havent:

FYI: The guitar is bigger then GH3's Les Paul, but smaller then the RB Strats. The wider, grooved Strumbar is epic, and is quite similar in stiffness as the RB ones, although it still does the "click". Just not as loud. Having the gigantic back button under the strummer as an alternate trigger for SP is sweet, too.

^^The new touch pad underneath the fret buttons is alot of fun. It has alot of uses, including:
*Being able to slide your free hand across it during long sustains will make a "wah-wah" effect to the note. It works similarly as the whammybar.
*You can "tap" the pad instead of strumming the bar. So if you have a long line of green notes, instead of clicking the strummer you can just tap any section of the pad and it will play the note.
TAP/SLIDE NOTES To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
So, see the notes above? Notice how they are see-through? Those notes mean you can "tap" them, meaning they are similar to hammer-ons, except you dont have to strum at all. All you have to do is just tap away, either on the fret buttons or the slide pad, and thats it. Even if you miss one or two...no strumming is required to pick them back up, just kep tapping.
Also you'll notice the purple line connecting them. That means you can use the slide pad to play them, and just slide your finger across the pad stopping at the right color in time to play the note. Notice the lighted path that shows which color your finger is currently on. Also cool, is that the purple rope swings around while sliding. It looks cool lol.
The slide notes, the tap notes, and the new extended sustains add a few new techniques to pick up that are really fun to play with. I cant find a good pic of the new sustains. But in certain songs, as an example, you'll hit a green note and sustain it, but there will be blue and red notes for you to hit at once. Now as long as you keep your finger on the green, strumming the other notes wont interrupt the sustain. Santeria has alot of these and its really fun. Also you see alot of hammer on Sustains which are fun as well.
alrightie..thats all im going to type up for now, wanna know more? lemme know.
