An industrious GameFaqs user, Vampheric has put together a list of perks expected in Call of Duty: World at War. We've filed this under rumor, since the list isn't completely sourced, but most of it reeks of truthiness, so we're passing it on. You be the judge.
Perks
- Juggernaut (Confirmed by Treyarch in interview)
- Sleight of Hand
- Extreme Conditioning
- Martyrdom (Confirmed by Treyarch in interview)
- Steady Aim
- Bandoleer
- Iron Lungs
- Stopping Power (August issue of Xbox Magazine)
- Deep Impact (August issue of Xbox Magazine)
- Sonic Boom [adds the ability to spread a deadlier & vaster sea of fire]
- Last Stand
- Monkey [Climbing trees]
- Frogman [Faster Swimming]
- Play Dead [Ability to fake death]
- Crouch Sprinter [Allows you to sprint while being in crouch position/cover]
- Banzai [Allows you to draw, charge & use your melee weapons alot faster (even when sprinting), providing more damage to the enemy]
What are perks? They are player customizations that let you add certain skills to your in-game self, creating a custom class of soldier. Perks were a very popular part of Infinity Ward's hit Call of Duty 4, so Treyarch has wisely chosen to keep them in World at War. In addition to an equally unsourced Weapons list, there's a CoD4 perks trailer after the break, to help you get an idea of what Treyarch is shooting for.
The Play Dead & Monkey perks can be very useful in this game. I might get this game when it comes out, but I need to read positive reviews to see if it's good or not.

I will get the game, I loved COD4, even though it is based around World War 2 again, I will still get it. Just kinda bummed about all the good aiming on the weapons being gone, probably.

As somebody that prefers WWII games I am hyped for this. Especially since there has yet to be a good WWII game based on the Japanese side of things. Although I am glad they are still keeping some Russian and Nazi levels in the game since I prefer the German side of the war. My only concern is that Treyarch COD games have not been as good as the Infinity Ward ones.
