While IGN simply reports that Rock Band 2 is "set to ship for Xbox 360 this September and PS3 later in the year," the AP says it will be "available for Sony's PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 2 as well as Nintendo's Wii later in the year." While the two at least agree about the "later in the year" detail, neither answer our biggest question about this arrangement: Is this presumably brief period of Xbox 360-exclusivity a business arrangement – as it was for Rock Band in Europe earlier this year – or simply a development reality?
Sure we've got other questions – like will the PS2 and Wii releases be similar to the watered-down experiences currently available – but with Guitar Hero IV coming out for Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, Wii, and PC in late October, details on the nature of the timed exclusive seem paramount. We've asked the hard-rocking folks at Harmonix to let us in on the nature of the arrangement.
I'm definitely going to buy it. It just depends on when I pick it up. It took me from the middle of July until two weeks before release to pay off Rock Band in full last year. Plus the peripherals saga. I don't want to be burned again :\.

Once this comes out, I may never be back here again. Funny that I've never really gotten into gaming until I bought my kids Guitar Hero for Wii, and now GTA4 for XBox. Now I could sit in front of that damn thing for 12 hours straight without a break. Next investment, one of those high tech gaming lounge chairs. Now when I get shot down for the 1,315th time by the wife for a little marital relations, I have something else I can look forward to To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. Because of this news, It is without a doubt GH WT will sit on the shelf as far as im concerened.
Heres some details Ive pooled from a few sites.
*THe disc will have in the neighborhood of 80 songs. Songs that I know of definitley are:
--Eye Of the Tiger-Survivor
--Battery-Metallica
--Pinball Wizard-The Who
--Anyway You Want It-Journey
--Drain You-Nirvana
--Panic Attack - Dream Theater or Finger Eleven or The Paddingtons
--Chop Suey - System of a Down
--Give It Away -Red Hot Chili Peppers
--Everlong -Foo Fighters
--Kids In America - Kim Wilde
--Ace of Spades- Motörhead
--Hello There- Cheap Trick
Also,ACDC,Turbonegro will have songs on disc
*All RB DLC is backwards compatible, with no need to re download or re purchase (W00T!)
*THe emphasis on this title is to fine tune the BWT and Online modes, and work more towards turning the Rock Band Players into more of a community. There will not be a graphics overhaul, simply because one isnt really needed
*Its been hinted around their boards that a Make a Setlist option will be available
*THere will be a mode on the game to help players who wish to play guitar and sing at the same time, to make single player BWT possible.
*It will also be more of an accessible party game, with more of an emphasis of quickly turning the game on and being able to play, without the pre-play tasks you have to do now (Signing in, joining, etc.)
Will post more when I know more

Ok, so here are some more songs that are supposedly on the Disc. Please note: The songs in the above post are confirmed, from either HMX themselves, or from a screenshot played on G4 showing a section of the song selection menu from RB2. And a few are from my own sources. Which are reliable.
The ones listed below, are songs that was listed on the Scorehero forums by somebody who said they got to test guitars for RB2
* "One Step Closer" - Linkin Park
* "Peace Sells" - Megadeth
* "Testify" - Rage Against the Machine
* "American Woman" - The Guess Who (or Lenny Kravitz)
* "White Wedding" - Billy Idol
* "You Ougha Know" - Alanis Morisette
* "Aqua Lung' - Jethro Tull
* "Bad Repuation" - Thin Lizzy (or Joan Jett)
* "We Got the Beat"- The Go-Go's
* "Man in the Box" - Alice in Chains
* "Spoonman" - Soundgarden

Where did you hear Battery from? That wasn't on the screenshot that was leaked. That was from one of the random e-homos that was saying they had a friend of a friend.
If you saw it on a screenshot let me see that bitch, that'd be friggin' epic.
