PS3 firmware update 2.36 released

The real biggie everyone's waiting for is firmware 2.4, which today was confirmed to include in-game XMB support along with the introduction of "trophies," something Sony promises we'll learn more about "soon."

Just when we'd come back from the suggested 15-minute break from MGS4, too!

i got on today and saw it needed updated and got all excited cuz i just read last night about the trophies and in game XMB but thats not till 2.4

its not useless if u play ps1 games on ur ps3, which most dont.

It also was probably to prepare for the 2.40 update. Just because you can't see what half these firmware updates are doing doesn't mean they are useless. With the updates for 360 90% of the stuff is stuff you don't notice and the only difference is insteading of holding out everything for six months like Microsoft (Well this year they are even being too useless to do an update every six months with no spring update) Sony release it when it is ready. Which I for one am not going to complain about.
