Monday may be the beginning of a weeklong vacation for millions, but that isn't stopping Nintendo's Virtual Console update. For those landing a Wii next week, you'll be happy to know that your online selection of downloadable games will include the original Super Mario Bros., Super Castlevania IV, Street Fighter II: The World Warrior, Toe Jam & Earl and R-Type.
If online play were an option, Street Fighter would really clean up. As a Super NES port, however, it's probably best to cling to your precious memories rather than download it for 800 points. If it's truly the original game, there are only eight playable characters and the action's slow as hell. Give us Super Street Fighter II and we'll talk.
Toe Jam and Earl is a free-roaming adventure game starring rapster aliens and a bunch of presents. Enemies include bees and a crazy dentist. Trust us, it's more fun than it sounds. TurboGrafx and shooter fans should be psyched to play R-Type* again - we sure are.
Then, on January 1, Nintendo's taking a day off by only delivering Baseball and Urban Champion, two NES games no one liked 20 years ago. Oh well, there's always another Monday, right?
I wish I had a Wii right now with games like Gunstar Hero and Toejam and Earl. I'd be hooked to old school right about now.

My step brother got 1. Too bad the fuckin controllers are sold out so we can only play Wii Sports 1 player To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. Still fun as fuck though especially the boxing.
i didnt get to try the wii out at best buy because they didnt have a controller out, just a video station, but if the ps3's motion sensor is that sensitive, the wii's gotta be good
I may invest in a Wii, seeing as Pro Evolution Soccer 6 and Smackdown vs. Raw 2007 are getting a little boring now, I've complete lots on both. The Wii could keep my pre-occupied until my desire for the other two returns.
yeah, i went to best buy, and the wii station didnt have a controller To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. but the ps3 did, and motion sensitive technology is fun.
