But then EA broke the news that the 360 port would receive a next-gen upgrade, aside from the mandatory high-res treatment. That includes 360 exclusive missions, some twists in the storyline and a recruit-a-henchman feature. Then we were all like, "Hmm, OK, OK." And EA was like, "Word up!"

IGN: Hi John. My name's Jon too, but without the 'H.' But enough about me. How many new missions have been added to The Godfather? How do those missions fit in with what was already in the game? John Calhoun: The Godfather for Xbox 360 has a huge number of surprises for both new and veteran players. Our team added four exclusive story missions, five hit missions (with new bonus condition challenges!), and over twenty favor missions. But we didn't stop there - we also remixed portions of the main game to speed up the action and address some comments from the fan community.
The new story missions are spread out through each of the four main acts, so you'll be playing new content even late into the game. You'll probably see the new hit missions once you become a capo or underboss, since they are designed to be more challenging. And the favors can be found anywhere in the world: talk to merchants, "business partners," or even Vito Corleone - you never know who might have a favor for you!

You should really only use them in the most important situations. Anyway John, what are you stoked about in the new missions and what's makes them special to you in your heart? Calhoun: Our team was excited to dive deeper into the Godfather fiction, and these missions gave us a chance to flesh out the game's story and really live up to the film. We wanted to give players more time with the Corleones, and feel like he truly belongs to the family. For example, it will be YOU who rescues Tom Hagen from Sollozzo's henchmen! It will be YOU who Clemenza calls upon to stop the Tattaglia's narcotics operation. It will be YOU who Michael entrusts to assassinate the casino mogul Moe Green.
IGN: !!!!!! Calhoun: A unique feature of the new missions is that many of them take place in locations exclusive to the Xbox 360. Our artists created brand new streets, buildings, interior layouts, and enemy compounds to ensure the missions are as fresh and exciting as possible!
IGN: I think it will be YOU who should lay off the Caps Lock button, Johnny. So how do these missions take advantage of the new gameplay features on the 360, like hiring-a-henchman? Calhoun: Some of the gameplay features that we improved include our combat AI, explosions, and car chases. Enemies are smarter, so you'll need to be smarter too; taking advantage of stealth techniques will be key in some missions. Of course, the AI is also better in combat, so we have new missions designed around huge gun battles and cover. Explosions on the Xbox 360 can shoot off fiery debris and cause chain reactions - so we naturally have a mission focused on causing as much destructive mayhem as possible. And every mission takes advantage of our improved car chases, so expect those hot pursuits to be even hotter!
Also exclusive to the Xbox 360 is the ability to hire a crew member. This added a new level of strategy to our hit, racket, and compound missions, so we turned up the challenge accordingly.

How did you decide on these specific missions? Calhoun: It always comes back to the Godfather movie, and what people want to see and experience for themselves. For example, the assassination of Moe Green: the way the hit was planned, the way the bullet nails him between the eyes - that's something fans remember from the film, so we absolutely had to include it. We also wanted to develop Sollozzo and Bruno Tattaglia's roles as villains, so we explored their alliance to smuggle narcotics, and its devastating effects on the Corleones. This helps explain the escalating violence depicted in the film and game.
