By now most of you have probably heard the story about Assassins Creed (an “exclusive” for the PS3) was actually running on an Xbox 360. IGN first ran the story, but then pulled it due to pressure from Ubisoft. Assassins Creed is one of the only things from E3 that Sony fans can latch onto, cause it was the only thing that wasn’t a complete disaster for Sony, and now it looks like it may be the biggest disaster of all. After doing some researching on this story before I posted it, I have found some interesting info; here are some links to do your own digging.

Anyways, from people who were there, the Assassins Creed demo station was using a cheap looking PS3 controller, with a wire going down to a sheet. Every other PS3 demo station had the USB controller bolted down for security reasons. Very suspicious to have only that game on some different kind of setup, and then have these rumors going around.
Assassins Creed debuted at last October’s Microsoft X05 event. This is an Xbox-only expo, and Assassins Creed had already been in development for the Xbox 360 for some time before the event. It’s possible that at E3, they had next to nothing done for the new PS3 version, so they showed the previously worked on Xbox 360 version.
This is just another example of the smoke and mirrors Sony constantly uses to try and make themselves look good in the face of superior competition. They finally show some gameplay and now if this is true, it wasn’t even running on their own system. Now…if the Assassins Creed demo had froze up, we would of known it was the PS3.
