Even though Halo fans will have to wait until god knows when before they get their hands on a new Halo game, they'll still get a new Halo experience come October 31. (A Halo Book)

3D Realms has revealed that new downloadable content for Prey will be free. The company had previously stated that this content would be available, but this is the first time they've talked price, or lack thereof.

The free content includes new multiplayer characters and maps and will be available on both Xbox 360 and PC. No release date was given, just the standard "with it's done" line.

In this era of microtransactions and points, it's nice to see someone just give something away for once. Now they just need to get it out before the end of 2006.

Eidos announces that the Reservoir Dogs game will be available in stores on October 24 for PlayStation 2, Xbox, and PC in North America.

“Eidos is proud to bring one of the most esteemed and influential films of all time to the video game consoles and PC,� said Kevin Gill, US Marketing Manager. “Gaming and movie fans alike will have the unprecedented opportunity to play through the events of the movie as well as experiencing parts of the movie that happened off screen but are essential to the main plot.�

Lionsgate will release the Reservoir Dogs 15th Anniversary Edition DVD street day and date with the Reservoir Dogs game. Included on the DVD are never-before-seen extra features and collectible packaging. The DVD also features promotions for the game both on the disc and in the packaging.

First 4 Figures is releasing sculpts of Samus Aran’s Varia and Gravity Suits. First 4 Figures has used the official game files in order to create an accurate recreation of the Varia suit, with pose inspiration taken from official Metroid Prime Varia Suit artwork. The suit series will include, but not limited to, Samus Aran’s Light Suit, Dark Suit and Phazon suit.

Cast in high quality poly-stone, the statue is hand finished and hand painted with metallic paints to give an authentic representation of the suits. Comes packed in a foam interior full colored box with a card of authenticity. The Varia Suit is limited at only 2,500 pieces worldwide online and local specialty stores. Atari today announced the upcoming North American release of Silverfall, a 3D action role-playing game that casts players into a world torn between science and nature. Developed by Monte Cristo Games, Silverfall will be available in North America for PC in February 2007.

Set in a world of fantasy dominated by opposing powers of technology and nature, Silverfall gamers must choose between these forces in order to conquer all forthcoming quests and save the principal city from falling. Two companions will accompany them on their journey through the world of Nelwe. Decision-making is key throughout the game, as players' choices impact both storyline and accumulation of skills.

"Atari is committed to bringing engaging products to gamers," said Robert Stevenson, Vice President of Business Development, Atari, Inc. "Silverfall offers a deep role-playing experience and an abundance of features that deliver an exciting gaming experience for PC and RPG fans."

Silverfall offers a unique character building system of advancement and equipment that allows for complete freedom to customize characters. Gamers can develop unique characters such as scientist troll magicians, elemental elf warriors, or mercantile goblins. Fighting and magic are employed throughout the game, and vary from melee, ranged and technical to light, elemental and dark.

Gamers will play throughout a 25-hour main quest, numerous side quests and two multiplayer modes, player-versus-player and co-operative.



Sierra and NovaLogic today announced that both companies have entered a co-publishing agreement to bring Delta Force Black Hawk Down: Team Sabre, a first-person shooter, exclusively to the PlayStation2 in November 2006 for $29.99.

Black Hawk Down: Team Sabre continues the Delta Force franchise with intense combat that includes two all new single-player campaigns as well as new weapons, squad commands and characters. Delta Force Black Hawk Down: Team Sabre contains the largest multiplayer combat for the PlayStation 2 system with up to 32 players online in seven unique game types.

At Nintendo's big Wii event in Japan, the company announced a string of 24 different publishing partners who are expected to contribute retro games to Wii's Virtual Console. Previously, only Sega and Hudson had been the only publishers outside of Nintendo itself announced for Virtual Console participation.

Majesco Entertainment and Valve today announced an agreement to deliver Majesco’s PC games via Steam. Beginning today, BloodRayne 1 & 2 and Advent Rising are available for download, while Psychonauts will be offered in early October.

“Steam’s position as a leading digital download platform, particularly among enthusiast gamers, is unrivaled,� said Daniel Hofbauer, business development director at Majesco. “We believe there is a great opportunity to extend the reach of our brands via digital distribution and are pleased to offer our titles to Steam’s audience.�
