Call of Duty 4 Killed My Xbox... Again

This is getting ridiculous. Last night my second Xbox 360 peed red in my eye. After an extremely long and exhausting Christmas with the fam, I couldn't wait to get home and play my Xbox 360. But nooooo! Seconds into my first Call of Duty 4 multiplayer match the game freezes and my controller spasms like an overclocked vibrator. I turn the console off and back on, not at all surprised to see my second Red Ring of Death. What did I do to deserve this? I paid for the console. I buy all Microsoft Game Studios first-party games. I love the expensive, yet wireless headset. I spend at least $15 a week on South Park episodes and XBLM videos. So WTF?!

How many Xbox 360s have you gone through? Has anyone traded a friend for a PS3?

If you didn't read how my first Xbox 360 died, here's the story.

I ignored the numerous complaints on forums everywhere. I thought my Xbox 360 was invulnerable. It turns out I wasn't so fortunate. Master Chief annihilated my 360.

At the end of a particularly shitty day, I decide to treat myself to an evening of delicious deep-dish pizza and round after round of Halo 3 into the wee hours of the morning. I call up my friends to make sure they have nothing else going on and to meet me online. Here we go; I load up the game and send out the invites.

With a mouthful of chicken-pesto pizza and a matchmaking lobby full of my friends, I'm mid-sentence into something deep and philosophical when I realize the game has froze. No big deal, I think to myself, this happens all the time, especially with Halo 3 which is already a problem. I wait a minute hoping the game will come to like it occasionally does, but nothing happens. I press the Xbox guide button. Nothing happens.

With no other options, I press the console on/off button and there it is, staring me red in the face: The Red Ring of Death. It might as well be the black spot. How could this happen to me? I feel like a chronic smoker diagnosed with lung cancer. A mother who just had a miscarriage.

Anyways, I'm pissed off. My first-generation PS2 still plays games like Shadow of the Colossus, God of War, Guitar Hero, and Metal Gear Solid 3 without a hiccup.

So far so good for me and my 360. Never had an issue with the original, either.

So far so good on my 360. It's as heavy as a few bricks but no Burning Ring of Death.

My X-Box 360 never has done this. I mean sure when I'm in Matchmaking in some times says Population 0, then it loads up and everythings fine. Sucks dude. If I was rich, /i'd send you one but no such luck

on every board i've posted this on. people think i'm TenaciousMoses.

My Xbox is doing fine. only probalem i have with it....was that i overplayed Tom Clancy's Rainbow 6 vegas alot during the summer. i can play the Xbox all day because my room is so cold i have to use two blankets and a sweater all day. my Xbox is a heater which helps keep my room warm....but i still have to use the blankets. other then that....no problems....the countdown to when it does happen is still on just like the overplayed Jericho return. <,<
when will it happen. >.> after all it's a core system with no harddrive.

so many? out of how many million sold, only a thousand or so have problems. Granted I admit it's a mild problem, but no moreso than any other real product out there. And at least the 360 tells you when there's an issue and doesn't just ignore it, my friends have had multiple problems with PS2's and PS3's. They all did the same thing just guess what was different. Oh yeah, For all the PS2's Sony said they were SOL. At least Microsoft owns up to their problems and tries to solve them.
