Ok, so I know nothing about networking, and I would like to get on Live.
My gf has her internet cable plugged into her CPU, and I want to hook up my 360, and have them both hooked up at the same time. How would I go about doing this? What do I have to buy? And what stuff is the most cost effective?
I just got an X360 and I simple plugged the ethernet cord to a router and to the 360 and it went live. I setup to connect on my Card and today when I went to go live it tried to do my 'The Stunner' instead of the name I made 'The Stunner 76'. Gotta figure that out now,lol

If you were on a bus full of gay guys would you get off?
My sister in law just got 360, and didn't have a router and didn't want to buy one, so I had to go through a lot of hassle today to get her setup for LIVE.
Had to set the IP and MAC addresses on the 360 to static addresses, cycle power on the modem beforehand....it was a long and tedious process. And getting her Wii to work wirelessly today was another pain.
Bottom line: Don't go wireless, buy a router and run a cord from it to the 360. That's the easiest bet for someone who isn't a networking engineer.
If you're buying a wireless router, most of it comes preset. That's actually what I have, all I did was set up my wireless router on my PC and then used the Wireless Adapter($100) for the 360 and boom I was on Live...
