What do all of yous use for social networking? What's your favorite and why?
I wrote a comparison of MySpace and Facebook, not too long ago. In the end Facebook was my favorite for many reasons. The primary reasons are facebook has less spam and the profiles don't have ads, bad layouts, spam, and 5 video's autostarting on page load. With Facebook adding these extra "modules" it's becoming more open to spam though, it's PITA.
Personally, I only log into facebook & myspace when someone sends me a message or to wish someone a happy birthday. I'm not really in to the whole social networking thing. I think it's a sad substitution for going to a coffee shop or bar and finding someone to BS with.
I was totally a MySpace girl until recently but it appears to be dying out. noone is ever on it anymore. I like how the pages can be more personalised what with your own background and layout and with your favourite music playing when you look at the page but theres waaay too much spam.
Now Facebook, I hated until the other week but am now a convert. It has features I dont like but nothing is ever going to be perfect. I've gotten in touch with so many people that Id lost touch with through it, and you can see what people are up to. Also, I like that sometimes you dotn have anything to say but you can still let a friend know youre thinking of them by simply waving at them and so forth.
I have no time for any other site.

Whereas the personalization was nice, people were completely stupid with HTML and had cross-codes, and so many god damn advertisements on their pages because they just copied code. ugh >,<

This is weird...someone on my other forum just started a thread exactly the same as this.
I'm a facebook girl...I only use Myspace to look at music on bands' sites. Facebook is just more organised and...erm...mature. And it's a better way of keeping in touch with people.
While I have both a MySpace and a Facebook account, I log into MySpace daily only because not very many people I know have a Facebook account, while almost all people I know have a MySpace account. But I understand that some people on MySpace like to have like 20 YouTube videos on their profile, which is just annoying. I only log into Facebook when I get a message or friend request.

It will essentially allow you to create a profile at a site like MySpace, and you'll essentially be able to clone your profile around to all the other social networks. I believe the only one not involved is Facebook. Open social has a couple of other key advantages too. For example, much like you have the applications on Facebook, Open Social will have them too, only for every social network you belong to.
I use MySpace, & Facebook though. I don't like any of them. If I want to get in contact with my friends, I'll call or text them. I'm not going to leave them a stupid message on their wall.
Yeah, I've been reading a bit about Open Social, it certainly looks like it will shake up the social networking system. Facebook have opted not to join, but I think sometime down the road they will.
Facebook are trying to tap into the music market, which has been very successfull for MySpace. Personally I don't see them doing half as well.
I used to add everyone and a couple girls that didn't like eachother used to pester me and argue on my page.. so I said screw this and deleted my account and started a new one.
