CMD's GH3 Demo impressions

I think Mikk is the only other GH player here (and even he is now a RB fanboy) but iom typing this anyway. Ne ner nee ner neeeeee ner!

So I was at B&N the other day, and I saw that the DEC issue of OXM was out, and it had a playable demo of GH3. GH3 comes out this Sunday, and im tired of playing part 2, so I figured buying the anmg for the demo was worth it, and it is.
The Demo allows you to play 5 songs from the new game in quickplay mode, and also ahas the two previous multiplayer modes as wella s the new battle mode. (I only have one Guitar controller untill GH3 comes out, so I havent messed with these. It also allows you to go into the tutorials, and the practice mode is also open so you can practice the 5 songs given.

THe 5 songs on the demo are: (I will give my take on these songs, and I play on hard, if that matters to anyone.)

Hit Me WIth your Best Shot--Made famous by Pat Benatar.
^^This is def a song thats going to be in the first level. Easy song for the most part, although fun to play. It has a couple of tricky parts in the verses, and the solo is medium difficulty at best. Good cover, the girl sounds like Pat B.

Lay Down--Priestess
^^Never really heard Priestess before, but this song is def a good rock jam. This song is average in difficulty, alot of HO/PO's in the beginning hook, that keeps coming backl through the entire song. Very easy solo, but really fun to play IMO.

Evenflow--Pearl Jam
^^THis song was harder than I expected. Its good to hear Eddie Vedder's voice, as this is a master track, even though the cover singer from 2 didnt really do a bad job at all. Very fun song to play.

Rock You Like a Hurricane--made famous by the Scorpions
^^Moderatley difficult, but the funnest song on the demo to play, imo. Its these type of rock anthem songs that really make GH a blast. Pain in the ass solo, the verses make you jump around alot (kind of like Hit Me with your best shot on speed) but the chorus is obviously pretty easy. And also, you cant even tell its a cover band. Spot on from the production of the song, to the guitar sound, to the singer who nails it.

The Metal--Tenacious D
^^Another moderatley difficult song to play. This one is more like Lay DOwn, with all the HO's/PO'. Very fun solo, and its just good to see Tenacious D in the game. I know there a goof band, but JB is a really talented guitarist. Lots of change overs, a good breakdown, and a pretty tough finish make this song fun.


IMPRESSIONS
*The graphics are alot better. The new layout, with the counter that keeps track of how many consecutive notes you hit, along with on screen notifications when you hit 50, 100, 200, etc note streaks are a nice touch.

*HO's/PO's still work as well as they did in 2, but it seems to be a bit more generous in timing. Meaning, ans not just with the hammer ons, but with regular notes as well, they give you a bigger window to hit the note.

*The singer looks ridiculous. But I think its supposed too, but if Mick Jagger and Stephen Tyler had a love child, he would look like this. His mouth is g-i-g-a-n-t-i-c.

*I cant fuckin wait till Sunday to get this shit.
