It blew out on my laptop. Now.. can this be fixed (probably not) for a reasonable price or would it be better for me to just buy a new laptop?

Depends on the make and model but if you have a decent warranty they should fix it for free depending on how you broke it.

Dell should fix it for free if the warranty is still good.

It wouldn't hurt to call them and ask before you consider getting a new one.
