For me personally I have been let down by the other maddens that have been released for 360. I will be renting the game and looking for any kind of improvements before I sink the money into buying the game.

I will probably buy it down the road in a few weeks. I don't need it right now, however. Oh, and I REFUSE to play on-line against people I don't know.
Nothing is more annoying then when your opponent has the ball and it's 4th and 26, and you bring out your punting team. They decide to go for it, so you're forced to either call a timeout or call a quick audible. Or, the only thing they do is onside kicks, which screws up your receiving team. Oh, and you get the guys who just know one play and re-use it each down, such as the Hail Mary.
I think I'm going to rent it first. I wasn't impressed at all with last year's but Madden is definitely an all-time favorite of mine so I'll probably end up getting it. Problem is... None of my friends can beat me!
I could really get into this game, but I'm not skilled enough to handle the controller for games like this. I've played Madden before, and always get a beat down, so I would have to say no.
I was thinking about it today. I played a game today in the store. The game has so many turnovers on the stock settings it is not even funny. I scored 3 td's via INT, 2 using Lynch of the Broncos. I threw 2 INTS's and I had 3 fumbles (2 of them where overturned when challenged) and made 2 fumbles.
There where 10 turnovers and 8 that where actual turnovers (due to mine being overturned).
The game play is alot better since I last played Madden (Madden 06 on PS2) but that was two years ago and a different console. The tackling in this game was sad. I mean... my RB would touch a defender sometimes and just fall down, and nothing to really force him down just a simple bump (this would even happen when I hit my guys... guess he was tripping >.<). Then there would be times he would rip 3-4 tackles. The graphics where nice but the kicking was crazy. I would have a horrible kick(kick accuracy that is) on a kickoff and still be able to boot it right out of the endzone and actually hit the Field Goal Post. Yet when it came to actual field goals... it got alot harder... and I think I went 0-2 for FG's while the other team went 2-0.
My final outcome was 22-19 Broncos (Me; Picked) vs. Packers (Computer; Was already picked >.>). Lynch with 2 INT Td's and some other dude with one (I dunno who, I forgot). Packers Passed for a TD, Rushed for a TD and kicked to FG's
My only major dislike is the turnovers. Also... when I was up 13-6 the ask Madden thing told me to go for two in the first half with 2:30 minutes left to play. I was successful at it but eh. I guess to put it to a FG for the tie.
The game is decent, and IMO better than the past. Dunno about 07, never played it. I say rent first and see what you think then if you really enjoyed buy, if not wait for a price drop or just forget about it. I bought it, however, because I like having updated and actual NFL rosters.

I have to the game play is wicked fast. You can certainly tell that they worked on improving that. No longer are there any slowdowns when an interception occurs. There are however some bugs.
Rosters are a bit weird. No Tim Couch on the Jaguars. No Jason Short on the Browns. Short's from my home town, so I had to look for him.
The loading times for actual game play are significantly longer. No real big deal though.
During game play as pointed out above, it seems like the interceptions happen way too often. During a 4 minute pre-season game, of the Brown vs. the Chiefs I had 2 interceptions. One of which I ran back for a touch down.
Quarterbacking is a bit strange as well. Every quarterback of mine throws a freaking rocket ... Brady Quinn, Charlie Frye and even Ken Dorsey, who in real life struggles with a 10 yard pass after 3 shoulder surgeries.
Players seem a bit floppy. They just throw themselves on the ground.
The game however is certainly better than APF 2008. I do like both though.
