Metal Gear no longer to be exclusive?

In a recent interview with Reuters, Konami’s Kazumi Kitaue, in charge of the company’s North American and European operations, said he didn’t think Sony’s $100 PlayStation 3 price cut would make much difference in terms of sales. "I don't expect a substantial impact ... With $500, you can buy a personal computer," he said.

The system’s relatively slow start seems to be shaking Konami’s resolve to have one of its flagship titles remain a PlayStation 3 exclusive, as well. "Since Metal Gear Solid was born for the PlayStation, we would like to keep it a PlayStation game. But we might have to take some steps," Kitaue said.

I will come out and say that if this does indeed happen, Sony's last real chance at getting back into the game anytime soon will be gone as this would be the only title outside of Final Fantasy that would be considered a SERIOUS system seller. Other games would cover some large niches, but I think this is PS3's biggest ace in the hole and without it, well ouch... Devil May Cry, Resident Evil, Virtua FIghter, Assasins Creed, GTA ... all 360 bound all ready...

same thing was said when they were saying that DMC may go 360... but it wasn't funny when it happened.

Well I have said for a while that it was only a matter of time before Sony titles jumped ship, it has always been bound to happen.

Considering I LOVE the MSG series, but will not get a PS3, I am rooting for the series to come to the 360..

You don't know what you're missing. The PS3 is amazing. Right now you're thinking, it has features I don't need. Then you get it, and you're like, the PS3 is god.

Believe me ... I've experienced it.

I just with the system were slightly more stylish, and that the game titles used the standard DVD protector case size. They don't friggen fit in my DVD holder.

Yeah about that... pass. The 360 is better and all the people that are helping Microsoft cane Sony in sales know that which is all that matters.

Hey, I've got a 360 too. It's a good system. But there's so much more included with the PS3.

The downside to the PS3 is a lack of available exclusive games. I think that'll really end up hurting Sony, especially if games like MSG start going dual platform.
