If you picked up the Xbox 360 version of Marvel: Ultimate Alliance and you’re jonesing for even more playable characters, Activision has heard your cries for help. Two new expansion packs will be available in April, adding eight more playable characters to the game’s already impressive roster. The packs are divided by heroes and villains, with each pack costing 500 Microsoft Points. If you want ‘em all, a combined package will be available for 800 points.
The hero pack includes the Incredible Hulk, Hawkeye, Cyclops and NIghtcrawler. If you’d rather see things from a more morally pliable perspective, the villain pack lets you explore the world with Magneto, Sabretooth, Doctor Doom and Venom.
It’s certainly exciting news, but it got us wondering how this new content will fit in with the existing game. When the Incredible Hulk meets up with Bruce Banner, it might be too much for the green guy to handle. Will Nightcrawler be able to save Jean Grey from her prison, effectively sacrificing himself? And that climactic battle sounds like it could be a little bizarre if you’re playing as Dr. Doom. Fear not, true believers. Activision says special voiceover audio was recorded, so when characters encounter themselves it won’t be awkward. The voiceovers are also tied into new achievements, so players will actually have incentive to check out all those doppelganger-filled conversations, too. So there you have it. We’ll let you know more about the expansion as details surface.
