New Virtual COnsole Releases

The Virtual Console adds a few fan favorites to its roster of classic games with todayâ€™s Wii Shop update.

First up is the 1989 NES classic Tecmo Bowl. While itâ€™s not Tecmo Super Bowl, itâ€™s a start. The game lacks the NFL license that was added in the 1991 update, you can still play a pretty decent (but quirky) game of football for 500 Wii Points.

If you like video pinball games, you should definitely give Sonic Spinball a shot. The game combines solid pinball action with platforming elements in one of Sonicâ€™s more successful spinoffs. For 800 Wii Points, you can see what Sonic was up to before he went all 3D on us.

The TurboGrafx-16â€™s Double Dungeons added multiplayer elements to the dungeon crawler. Players choose from one of 22 different scenarios and venture into dungeons searching for loot, monsters and, of course, keys. Check it out for 600 Wii Points.

I already have Sonic Spinball on Sonic Mega Collection Plus. It's a decent game, but i'm not sure it's worth 800 points (to me).

Never played Double Dungeons before.

Tecmo Bowl is still considered a great game, so I might get it. Tecmo Super Bowl won't happen unless EA agrees to it since EA has the NFL license until 2010.

What about NHL '93 from Sega. Will that be released?

Sega would have to get a license from the NHL. I hope they do since NHL '93 was a pretty damn great game and I bet it would do really well on the VC.
