Well, not really, but you get the idea. In addition to others, Next-Gen has selected their top game picks for 2006, 50 to be exact. Microsoft platforms -- a clear majority of which were 360 games -- seemingly dominated the multiplatform list by a total share of 42%. We'll spare you the 40 losers and just run down the top 10:

It's better than GameSpot's list (which picked Dead Rising as a better game than Zelda and Okami).
Gears of War LOOKS great, and that's the only reason I think so many people are calling it GOTY. It's a good game, but not the GOTY IMO.

Gears of War to me is game of the year. It has the most complete package... visuals, great gamplay, the duck and move system is great, the single and multiplayer are both amazing, the game AI is mind blowing in harder difficulties, the story is engaging and they use full advantage of the camera system, and not to mention that it is the best looking game to date...
