Master with no HUD is the only way to play. I do fast travel when not doing quests though, sorry but I'm not wasting time traveling to every damn city trying to sell all my buffed items with these cheap ass weapon vendors.

There is a lot of death involved. It feels similar to Dark Souls, which is to say, it doesn't feel like the world revolves around the player. Definitely helps for the immersion factor.
Hard to say because I haven't experienced the effects of all that I have installed, but so far the real giants mod is my favorite. Giants are approximately 3-4 times bigger than normal. It's intimidating as ****.

The first thing I did in Skyrim when I left Helgen and explore, the first creature I onto was a giant that sent me flying across the basin. If that giant was three times bigger that would of been scary as hell. I'm gonna have to buy the PC game when I get my new laptop.

PC's been rocking microphone based shouts and such for quite some time now. There's nothing quite as satisfying as shouting dragons to death while your roommate is trying to sleep.

Thought I'd mention this: very cool LOTR modding project coming along.
I could go on and on about how vastly different Skyrim on PC with mods is - from the way swordfights play out, to the sheer power of spells, to the armors and atmospheric details - it's an entirely different game.
For example:
A few modders have brought Lord of the Rings weapons to Skyrim - I am particularly fond of Arwen's sword - but I haven't seen anyone attempt something of this scope and magnitude before. I don't know how long it will take them to finish, but I am very much looking forward to this.

It looks like it's still got a long way to go but the level of detail so far is astounding. I really loved Lord of the Rings Online and while I don't expect this will be anywhere near as complex, I really appreciate every opportunity available to visit Tolkien's world. I'll be keeping an eye on this one.
