These threads always turn into fanboy wars. Cant you accept that they are both great consoles for entirely different reasons.
The reason I have an xbox is because I prefer the layout of the homepage, all of my friends play xbox live, Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty city (The Lost & Damned + Ballad of Gay Tony).
Some good factors for the PS3 is that they have a built in wireless, free multiplayer (although they suffer from a lot of downtime and bugs, which probabally explains why its free).

And when there is no hope,
"I'll smoke some crack, I'll shoot some dope!"
When theres no enemies,
"I sit and stare at my T.V.
and in my ignorance,
I'll be a slave and sycophant!"

Not really. Every game on PS3 I've played online ran just fine. Don't know where you're getting downtime and bug information. They are both good systems. Microsoft fixed up a lot of the hardware problems the 360s were having, so if you bought a new one, you probably wouldn't have a problem with it, or at least it would last longer, if it did have a problem. I haven't had anything wrong with my PS3, they are very well put together and last. It all comes down to if you are really into multiplayer games. Xbox is more for that, while PS3 is more about single player, however online play works fine on it. Basically, if your friends have Xbox, you should prolly get an xbox. If they don't and you just want a system to play games on, I'd go with the PS3.

I have the Wii, 360 and PS3. Let me break it down.
360 has the best online game play, but it comes at a price. I don't think having a slightly better interface is worth the $50 a year. XBox live also has some nice features, like the Netflix integration.
PS3 is by far the superior system. It's a much more complete system, and it shows in the games. Purchase a PS3 exclusive, and you'll see that the graphics look like they're from a next-gen in comparison to the 360. Don't get me wrong when I said the 360 has better online game play either. PSN (Playstation Network - it's their online section) is good and very usable. The interface just isn't as polished as the 360's. I haven't had any problems with downtime, or poor performance in probably the past 6 months.
The Wii; well, the Wii is laughable. Maybe I should donate it to a daycare?
GTA IV had extreme difficulties on PSN, it wouldnt connect for about 3 weeks at one stage, where on 360, it ran fine. Maybe it was just 360. But my mates PS3 is always having trouble online were his xbox is fine.

I NEVER have problems with PSN, i'd be too worried about my XBOX breaking if I were to get one
