US, August 31, 2009 - Rockstar Games announced today Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars will be making its way to Apple's iPhone and iPod touch platforms this fall. This news comes just as Gameloft's GTA-esque Gangstar works its way up the charts in the App Store, offering its own take on the open-world crime epic genre.
"Chinatown Wars is a perfect match for the iPhone and iPod touch," said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. "We are very excited to bring this incredibly ambitious version of Liberty City, with this level of detail and immersive gameplay on Apple's new gaming platforms."
GTA: Chinatown Wars was originally released earlier this year for Nintendo DS, and was recently announced for PSP, also coming this fall. The title is being developed by Rockstar Leeds, the same studio that created the "Libery City Stories" games for PSP.
Price or a release date were not revealed at this time, but expect more information on the newest addition to the GTA family -- and its newest screen -- to appear soon on IGN Wireless.
Not long till GTA is just on everything.
