What's wrong with my PS3?
Whenever I put a game, dvd, cd, or any disc whatsoever into my PS3, the busy icon appears in the upper righthand corner of the screen, but the disc never loads. The games on the hard drive still work, so i'd imagine it's something wrong with the disc part. I'll be honest, I have no clue about hardware things. Anybody know what's wrong?

corrupted firmware most likely. reinstall the os.

2 times in 6 months by ps3 stopped working, the stupid shit would show the first screen with the lines going across and would do absolutely nothing.

I restored my PS3 and formatted it, but it still doesn't work. How would I re-install the OS? I barely know what I'm doing.

try going to the website and see if you can send it in. it takes about a week turnaround to get it back if you send it out day or 2 after you recieve the shipping box

With Sony? Not bloody likely to be only a week, most likely will be longer than that. Sony also charges a ton of money for repairs. Nintendo has always been #1 in terms of customer service.
