Superstar mode does suck most of the time, but I'm curious as to why some people dislike Franchise mode. I don't spend a lot of time playing Franchise mode, but when I have.. I thought it was decent, especially if you have NCAA and import the draft classes.
They added something new to this year's franchise as it's a lot harder to obtain players through free agency if you don't meet their criteria. There's a bunch of things they are looking for like a 'winning team' 'successful coach'.. and of course 'most money'.. but it's kinda neat. I've dicked around with it a little.. it's tough for the Niners to secure anyone of value.
Most of the time I'm either playing this game online or against friends and I'm loving the gameplay. The gameplay is so FAR advanced and realistic compared to 09.. it's a dramatic difference.

The Franchise okay in 07, Its 2009 now. The fundamentals of the Franchise mode are the same as they were back then. The Trade System is still unrealistic, The simmed statistics are a absolute mess when it comes to running backs and corner backs. (crazy low rushing TDs and tackles). Progression isn't Progressive at all (players will go up 4-5 points a year even if they don't play or suck when they do). Simmed stats are important to me especially since I sim a lot of games.
Its that kind of stuff that wrecks Dynasty mode to me. Maybe I'm spoiled by NCAA, The Show and NBAs Dynasty modes but its still the same franchise mode, with little fixes that result in just as many, if not more problems.4

I never payed attention to tackles and shit but I thought the quarterback stats looked pretty realistic. Guys like Brady, Brees, Manning, etc.. would throw for over 4,000 yards and 35-40 TD's while my guy.. Shaun Hill.. threw 19 tds and 19ints in a simulated season.
I thought the running back stats were solid too. What I didn't understand is why on a lot of teams you had the quarterback spreading the ball out so much.. for instance, my running backs had almost as many receptions as Crabtree, Bruce, and Davis who were all around 50-60 receptions. I wanted Crabtree to be around 80-85 receptions at least.
i think this years Madden is a huge step up from 09 and overall is quite enjoyable. Though i think they shouldve changed the Franchise mode a little because i am a big fan of that mode. In NBA games the franchise is more realistic then in Madden

I have to say I like the Franchise mode, even though I agree with the stats being a little unrealistic for most players throughout the league. But, it's still incredibly enjoyable to play.

The gameplay is clearly an improvement over any other previous installment of Madden, I also love the fact that they expanded the ratings, however, it's 2010, I have a feeling we should be way farther in what we're improving than where we are. As much as I love playing exhibition games against friends, it's not worth $60.

wait are you saying Magic Johnson is black, has AIDS and has it better than ME?
The first update is slated to be available tomorrow morning. Favre and Vick will be included. I just read that Favre is to have an 82 rating which seems reasonable and Vick will be a 73. Here's the breakdown on Vick:
