Everytime I place a downloaded game on my psp it says "file corrupted." I read this is because i have firmware version 4.05 and I need firmware 1.05 or something like that. To get my stuff to work I need to install a custom firmware, but it could brick my PSP and cause it to not work. Anyone know a way to install PSP games without custom firmware?

Your probably going to have to get a down grader so you can down grade to the first custom firmware. Every firmware PS makes it harder for free shit to go on the psp. So you can google "PSP Downgrader" and down grade it. Then it should work.

Ugh, I need some sort of battery and its all just too complicated and too much work. Here another n00b question, how do I get games off of PSN? I'm looking at FF7.
Well you can do it right from your PSP if you have wifi. If you have the latest firmware then go to the PSN work button on the menu, and you should be able to buy it and dl it from there. Idk, I don't really use psn that much, I buy all mine at the store.
