Crash Bandicoot
Crash Bandicoot, or simply Crash, is a popular video game character of Naughty Dog's Crash Bandicoot series created by Andy Gavin and Jason Rubin. Next to Jak and Daxter, Crash Bandicoot is Naughty Dog's signature franchise, and served as an unofficial mascot of Sony, having sold over 34 million copies worldwide.
In the games, Crash is described as a genetically-advanced Eastern Barred Bandicoot whose quiet life on N. Sanity Island (an island located southeast of Australia) is frequently interrupted by his nemesis Doctor Neo Cortex, and must defeat him to put his life back in order. He is often accompanied by allies such as Aku Aku, Coco Bandicoot, and Crunch Bandicoot
WHAT'S A BANDICOOT? In reality a bandicoot is a mammal about the size of a rabbit. Though a different type than Crash is found in India and Sri Lanka (where they notoriously destroy crops), marsupial "pig rats" of the order Peramelina live in Australia and the nearby island where Crash and his family are from, Tasmania. The species is nearing extinction. ORIGIN Crash was zapped by Dr. Neo Cortex's Evolvo Ray which hyper-evolved him, granting him the intelligence of a human being. Upon this change Crash realized that he was naked, quickly wrangling up a pair of baggy blue shorts and some high-top shoes to keep his feet warm and comfy.
Zidane
Zidane Tribal is a character from the Final Fantasy IX videogame.
The happy-go-lucky leader of the Tantalus theater troupe (which doubles as a swashbuckling burglary crew) has a much more unusual origin than he realizes. That’s always in the back of his mind, but he’s mostly concerned with what’s in front of him, whether it’s his latest performance or his latest score.
Strider vs. Banjo
Quote:
Stryder
Not to be confused with his heroic cousin Strider Hiryu, Strider Hinjo was the replacement character (most often simply referred to as The Warrior) in the ill-conceived Strider Returns.
Banjo
Banjo is the heroic Honey Bear from the series of videogames bearing his name.
Zell vs. Volgin
Quote:
Zell
Zell Dincht is a character from the Final Fantasy VIII videogame. Unlike most of his fellows in Final Fantasy VIII, who all specialize in some unusual weapon or another, Zell prefers to defend himself with nothing more than his fists and feet. His rough-and-tumble fighting style matches his personality, that of a cocky young fighter who can back up at least a sizable fraction of the smack he likes to talk.
Volgin
Yevgeny Borisovitch Volgin is a character from the Metal Gear Solid videogame series.
This guy? Not the guy you want to aggravate. Colonel Volgin is rough stuff even by Soviet Army standards. The principal devil of Metal Gear Solid 3, he's the first major antagonist to test Naked Snake, the man who would one day become Big Boss.
Marcus Fenix vs. Cid
Quote:
Marcus Fenix
The main character of Epic Games' 2006 hit Gears of War, Marcus Fenix managed to give gamers around the world exactly what they were looking for: A brutal, gritty adventure.
Armed with the general issue equipment of the Coalition of Ordered Governments, it's up to Fenix to make sure that the Locust forces are kept at bay.
Cid
Cid Highwind is a character from the Final Fantasy VII videogame. The unofficial leader of the people of Rocket Town on the planet’s western continent, Cid is something of a grudging collaborator with the Shinra Corporation. He doesn’t necessarily sympathize with most of Shinra’s aims, but he needs its help to jump-start the space development program that he hopes will allow him to become the first man in orbit.
Maester Seymour vs. Nightwolf
Quote:
Maester Seymour
The tenth game of the Final Fantasy series, Square's 2001 bestselling console role playing game Final Fantasy X revolves around a summoner and her guardians aiming to defeat a creature known as "Sin" in the fictional universe of Spira. It is told through the eyes of Tidus, a dream of the Fayth. The characters were designed by Tetsuya Nomura. The game's sequel, Final Fantasy X-2, takes place two years after the events in Final Fantasy X and uses almost the same cast of characters.
There are seven main playable characters in Final Fantasy X: Tidus, a skilled blitzball star, who is being summoned by Yu Yevon; Yuna, a reserved and soft spoken summoner; Kimahri Ronso, a member of the Ronso tribe; Wakka, the captain of the blitzball team in Besaid; Lulu, a black mage; Auron, a powerful warrior and an unsent; and Rikku, an Al Bhed and Yuna's cousin. Final Fantasy X-2 features Yuna, Rikku, and Paine as playable characters. Unlike other games in the series, there are no optional or secret playable characters.
Nightwolf
Nightwolf works as a historian and preserver of his peoples culture. When Kahn's portal opens over North America, Nightwolf uses the magic of his Shamen to protect his tribes sacred land. This area becomes a vital threat to Kahn's occupation of Earth.
Solidus Snake vs. Kazooie
Quote:
Solidus Snake
Solidus Snake is a character from the Metal Gear Solid videogame series.
Solidus Snake represents a second, more refined attempt to replicate the abilities of the legendary soldier Big Boss. Solid and Liquid Snake, the first two “enfants terribles,” were the “analog” clones, created by combining Big Boss’ genetic material with a volunteer mother’s in vitro. A surrogate mother carried the resulting fetus to term and the two boys were born as normal. Solidus, on the other hand, was grown using more advanced techniques, and represents an exact copy of Big Boss.
Kazooie
Stuffed inside Banjo's backpack is his wisecracking Kazooie Breegull buddy, Kazooie.
Raam vs. Tidus
Quote:
Raam
General RAAM (voiced by Dee Bradley Baker) is the primary antagonist and final boss of Gears of War. He is a mostly silent and savage Locust general with a dark cinematic presence. He appears as a large Locust shrouded in Kryll. RAAM is first seen in the beginning of Gears of War killing Kim. He is seen again after the detonation of the sonic resonator, apparently listening to a captured COG soldier's radio in order to discover Delta squad's plans. His last appearance is in the game's climax as the final boss; he is killed by Fenix and Dom before they plant the data to activate the Lightmass Bomb. He is also playable in the assassination multi-player mode as the leader for the Locust side.
RAAM is also an unlockable character for multi-player in Gears of War 2.
Tidus
Tidus is a character from the Final Fantasy X videogame. Tidus may act the stereotype of a dumb jock from time to time, but he finds his way to becoming an able leader over the course of Yuna’s quest. His optimism proves invaluable to keeping her spirits up – which is more important than he knows, since he doesn’t know the whole truth about what a summoner’s pilgrimage entails.
Sora vs. Spiderman
Quote:
Sora
Sora is a character from the Kingdom Hearts videogame. In Sora’s case, he winds up getting dragged off to dozens of alternate worlds on a spaceship made of candy, trying to figure out what happened to his friends Riku and Kairi, who’ve been spirited away by a host of faceless demons.
Spiderman
Bitten by a radioactive spider, young Peter Parker found himself suddenly gifted with amazing abilities. Having learned from his uncle that "With great power comes great responsibility," Peter assumed the role of Spider-Man and swore to fight evil.
