May 6, 2009 - In an earnings call with investors today, THQ execs said they hope to release the next installment in the Smackdown vs. Raw series later this year.

Predictably titled Smackdown vs. Raw 2010, the upcoming wrestling title follows a solid (but not stellar) showing in the series. Smackdown vs. Raw 2009 received a 7.9 from IGN PlayStation editor Greg Miller. Will the next entry fare better? So far we know nothing about SVR10 except its title and anticipated release window. When we know more, so will you.

Now 2009 was just awful. I beat the game in a day and had nothing to do afterwards. I pray to God they bring back GM mode. What sports game does not have one? Too much was removed from 2009 and I hope they add more for 2010.

I haven't played it since the catastrophe that was 07 with all the glitches and basically an unfinished game. So I can honestly say I am not looking forward to it at all.

09 was actually quite good imo. I played it a lot for a few months. I hope for more RTW storylines (maybe 10-20) and GM mode added on top of career mode. Or do a story mode with voice over and one without (that's more interactive with more career path choices).

There was recently some talk of recordings that were done for the crowd. Apparently one of the chants seemed relevant for Bruiser Brody, and another was for Macho Man. Guess it'll be interesting to see what comes out of that.
They also recorded a Tornado chant for CAWs for the Human Tornado, who was there, since it was being run by Fabian Kaylin(former WSX announcer,XPW personality,etc.)

I'll be getting UFC 2010 instead.

I got SvsR 09 and stopped playing it within 2 weeks, probably not even that. It just was a horrible game and lost replay value fast. Plus the controls were quite a cluster fuck from what I remember. Career mode was major failure.

I have no idea how the creators would get rid of something people like and that was GM mode. Sure it had a bug in 2008 but they could of fixed it. GM is what gave the games more game play time. In my opinion all wrestling game should have this type of mode. It is like making the show how you like in the perspective of the real thing.

They need to go back to the HCTP control scheme and I'd also like to see the return of GM mode.

I personally think the controls give far more options are much better now than they've been before.

One thing I definitely want is more free-apron use. Let me walk on the apron and jump on/off the top rope onto the apron, do springboard moves, etc. whenever.

I want a real interactive General Manager Mode. Like a "General Manager Season Mode" where you can play GM of Raw, ECW or SMackdown and you would have to deal with the roster directly and make desicions to their faced. Kinda like the real GM Mode. Not just make the cards.

I also want more of what they di in 09 with the selected Season modes, just more choices.
