List the hardest and/or most memorable bosses you have ever come across in an action game. If you can't remember a bosses name, just describe it and list the game. You can make two seperate lists as well. One for most memorable and for challenging.
Also, on the opposite side what were worst bosses, or easiest, or down right lamest ones.

This is way too hard for me if I consider every single game I've ever played, so I'm going to stick with old-school NES games.
Memorable: Death - Original Castlevania on the NES. I wish I had a dime for every time I tried and failed to beat this son of a bitch as a kid. I almost listed him as most challenging, but he's actually one of the easiest if you have the holy water.
Challenging: Mike Tyson - Mike Tyson's Punch Out. Your reflexes and timing have to be PERFECT to beat him. There's almost NO room for error. To this day, I still haven't beaten him without cheating.
Worst: Count Dracula - Castlevania II. What the hell were they thinking? All he does is appear and fly around in a circle. You spend countless hours in the game collecting all his body parts to revive him. I was expecting an epic battle. Instead, I got a 3 second massacre. What a letdown.

I will never forget fighting Bowser on Super Mario 64. Grab that fucker by the tail, spin around, and throw him into the spiked bombs on the edge of the platform. And it was the same thing every time you fought him To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. So epic.

How epic is ''The End'' in Metal Gear Solid 3? I think some parts of that game go beyond good and enter the revolutionary category, that being perhaps the best example. The idea of taking on a sniper in that environment was truly amazing. Something when you were looking for him through the scope, and you exited the first person view only to find out he was behind you with his gun to your head, it made you shit your pants!

Sephiroth in Final Fantasy 7 and FF7 Crisis Core. For some reason it always takes me a few tries to beat him. I fought him in the 90's and he whooped me for 5 straight hours, then in 2008 I fight him and he whooped me for 3 hours. The worst part was that that Crisisis core went on for about another half hour after I beat him.
Another hard thing, although its not a boss, was getting that secret ending with Yuna/ Tidus in FFX2. You know, the ending where the two finally meet up. Chyeah, it was me who posted the English version of that on Youtube! It was a fuggin pain in the ass.
Other than that, Ken Shamrock in Pride Fighting on PS2. I dont remember much except the roided man kept choking me out.
Good call with "The End". That one didn't cross my mind.
Did you know there's a part in that game (a cutscene) where The End is being wheeled by another character, that just after it ends you could get out your sniper rifle and shoot him in the head? If you do, the boss fight with The End will be skipped.
Another way is to get to the boss fight, turn off your console and wait 7 days. When you load your game back, The End has died of "old age" and you can continue on.
Pretty crazy, but I fought the battle the way it was meant. Although I'd play for about 15 minutes (maybe get one hit on him), pause it for a while, play for another half or hour so, pause it and take another break, and so on...it's a different and fun boss fight, but definitely takes its toll on your patience.

Nah I never knew about either of those things lol. Pretty cool. I just did it the hard way. Got owned at first though.

Dr. Eggman (formerly Robotnik) in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was challenging for me. You have no rings, you have some continues and lives, and you gotta face Robot Sonic to get to him.
