The 2nd gen PS3 must have some serious issues. I have the 1st gen and it's worked perfect for the past year and a half. I did have to fix a co-workers PS3, but his issue is that he was installing the latest firmware and shut it off mid-install. It fucked up the OS, but was an easy fix.

I have yet to have a problem with my PS3. I found out after all this time the problem I had with the 360. My niece dropped it and it hadn't worked right since. She was scared to tell me. Although since my nephew has had it he hasn't had any problems with it. I still like my PS3 better though.

I hardly ever use my PS3 and that's had no problems I've had Nine Xbox 360's in Three years so yeah...

I got it in November and this is the 2nd time. the thing is i hardly ever use it maybe like 4 hours a week or so and it still did it again. hopefully this time they just send me a whole new system instead of "fixing" it again

I've owned a used ps3 for about 2 years and haven't had a problem with it. *knock on wood*

Yeah, I've had a PS3 since it came out. I've had 0 problems with it. I've had 360 since January, haven't had any problems with it so far...but I'm expecting to have some. Luckily a shop down the street fixes them, so it shouldn't be too hard to get it functioning again.
