I really had high expectations for this game, and from what I can see from the demo, it's lived up to my high standards. If you preordered this from gamestop, you can get the demo today. If you didn't you have to wait until next thursday.
Striking game is awesome, Liddell has some 120 different combos. I've played with him mainly, I just like beating the shit outa Shogun. I haven't been able to submit him or get into a clinch and throw him down, I'm very much still a nub, haha. It includes a nice tutorial section so you can learn different shit before you go in the game and fight. So far I've won with a TKO and a KO. I've been knocking him out with the superman punch a lot, it's really effective. I really need to work out how to be more effective in the clinch game, I get my double underhooks then I don't know what the hell to do...I try throwing him but I can't...they make it look so easy in the tutorial To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. As for the ground game, I don't see much of it with Liddell, because I just want to beat the shit out of him standing, but for the times I have went to the ground it's pretty awesome. Like real MMA, both guys fight and resist each other. So you don't get your opponent down on the ground and just beat the shit out of him, it takes some talent to use the ground game effectively, which I don't have at the moment.
My friend came over so we did 2 player, it's much more enjoyable, since the computer isn't all that great. Plus you can trash talk! So yeah, I'm for sure getting this game now. Only thing I think it could be stronger is the blood. The fighters get cuts and little bruises, but I was hammering down on Shoguns face for a good 4 minutes, and all he had was a little cut. Maybe I 'm expecting too much when it comes to that feature. But yeah...games sick.

The Demo is awesome, the variety of takedowns, clinches, grapples and knockouts on it is just sublime. The graphics are better and the promos and stuff look so good. The tutorial menus are good way to hone your skills and stuff and I must say this game has lived up to the hype, this is a must buy.
I agree, this game is awesome and thats just from playing as 2 fighters.
1st match i had i was Shogun and took Liddell down and just tormented him with forearms until he got knocked out.
